We have a great 73-page bundle this month with 14 tutorials that include layouts with strips of card stock, patterned paper and die cut shapes, plus the twisted ribbon, mosaic, floating element and patchwork with faux stitching techniques to name a few.

This month is all about Loving Sale-a-bration. Yes, it's THAT time of the year again! We have a huge 74-page bundle with 14 tutorials using all but one of the Sale-a-bration products that you can choose for FREE with a qualifying order from 5 January - 28 February 2023.  There is a heap of inspiration with each tutorial having at least one card and a 3D project.

Stampin' Up! Adorable Owls Boxed Set of Cards | Sale-a-bration 2023 | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I've chosen 2 of my favourite Sale-a-bration products - the ‘Adorable Owls’ stamp set and ‘Dandy Designs’ 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper pack. The images from Adorable Owls are quite simply - adorable! They are quick to colour and you can use them for any occasion. I’ve coordinated them with the Dandy Designs DSP, which is a fabulous pack of 48 sheets with 4 each of 12 double sided designs in mainly pastel colours (Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink) with a few pops of brights (Granny Apple Green & Mango Melody). The small designs are perfect for card making and backgrounds.

I’ve created a fun box with a window to show a peek of what is inside. The lid sits inside the box and opens at the bottom with a thumb notch and is hinged at the top. The box is 6 1/2” x 4 5/8” x 1 1/4” (16.5cm x 11.8cm x 3.2cm) and fits standard C6 envelopes and full-sized cards. You could also choose to use it as a gift box with a coordinating card as the size makes it suitable for a lot of not-so-small gifts or treats.  You can see more photos by clicking on the Etsy link below.

This month our theme is about 'Giving Thanks'. Being thankful is about showing appreciation for a kindness done to us, for the goodness in our life, the friendships and relationships that bring us joy. I like to show my gratitude with a handmade card or gift, so I have created this pretty stationery box with the Fitting Florets Collection

Stampin' Up! Fitting Florets Stationery Box | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

The box contains much more than it would appear from the size and I've put every inch of space to good use.  It contains an assortment of full sized cards, note cards and mini 3” x 3” cards/tags all with envelopes, plus helpful accessories such as a sticky note pad, calendar, note book, pen and postage stamps - everything someone would need to keep in touch with loved ones. The finished box is 4 3/4” x 6 1/2” x 2 1/2” (12.1cm x 16.5cm x 6.3cm).  A beautiful thank you gift, but it would also be perfect for someone going travelling, a loved one in aged care, as a Christmas gift, or just for yourself, so you can enjoy this pretty box on your desk and have a selection of cards at hand.

My 19 page tutorial provides step by step instructions for creating the box, plus designs for the full-size cards, note cards and mini cards, all using the beautiful Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper. You can see more photos by clicking on the Etsy link below.

CASE-ing the Catty - Embossed Project

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week! I've been busy for the last couple of weeks with our renovations. We have the new laundry cabinets coming on Wednesday, so we have been madly painting the room to get it ready and I spent many hours on the ladder giving our lime-washed ceiling 3 coats of sealer.  However, I'm pleased to say that I managed to make a card for this week's challenge.

If you've come from visiting  Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing an embossed project. Embossing covers both heat and dry embossing; two techniques that add lovely texture and interest to your cards.

CTC358_SU_Sample
I think dry embossing is one of the quickest and easiest ways to add interest to your cards and it's definitely a favourite for me. This week, I've taken inspiration from both of the sample projects above.

Stampin' Up! Pierced Blooms Dies | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I've combined the inked embossing technique of the landscape card with the layout of the hearts card for my version. I started by inking the inside left panel (the one with the Stampin' Up! logo) of the Gingham Embossing Folder with Pool Party ink. I inserted a piece of Pool Party card stock and ran it through my die cutting machine. This gives a tone-on-tone look and really shows up the gingham design. I went with a Basic White scalloped rectangle I found in my die cut shapes bag, rather than patterned paper. It was embossed with the (retired) Subtle Embossing Folder and cropped with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

I've replaced the hearts with the lovely flowers die cut with the Pierced Blooms Dies. I chose a group of colours and then die cut all of the flowers in the set at the same time, from each colour. This is super quick and you can then play around with the colours and arrangement until you're happy. I put the leftovers into a zip lock bag so they are available for next time. The greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped in Just Jade ink, fussy cut and popped up across the flowers. I finished with a trio of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

For the inside, I have a Basic White stitched rectangle for the writing panel and a cluster of flowers in the corner. I added white centres to the small flowers with the Classic Matte Dots.

CASE-ing the Catty - 2021 July-December Mini Catalogue

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

This week we have free reign to CASE  from the 2021 July-December Mini Catalogue. This will be our last look at this Mini Catalogue as the new 2022 January-June Mini Catalogue commences on 4 January.

CTC349_SU_Sample

I have selected the sample project above from page 54 of the Mini Catalogue for my inspiration. The frame using the Cork 12" x 12" Specialty Paper caught my eye. I think we are all pretty much over Christmas cards, so I decided to finish the year with a sneak peek of some new products from the 2022 January-June Mini Catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I started with a piece of Basic White card stock and added the Balmy Blue checked design from the new Abstract Beauty 4" x 6" Specialty Designer Paper. It is a pack of 48 sheets the perfect size for card making. I just trimmed a little from the bottom and it was ready to adhere. There are lots of fun designs and I can see that I'm going to use this one a lot. I cut my frame from the Cork Specialty Paper using two of the Stitched Rectangles Dies nested together.  This paper is quite thin, so I adhered it to a piece of Crumb  Cake card stock first, so it would be more robust when I popped it up. I stamped some of the spatters in Misty Moonlight ink before adhering the frame.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I used the large daffodil image from the new Daffodil Daydream stamp set, which has the coordinating Daffodil Dies to crop the images. The image was coloured with Stampin' Blends and I lightly colour the centre areas of the image with Balmy Blue, so it would blend better with the Balmy Blue background. I stamped and coloured the daffodil at the top a second time and fussy cut it and popped it over the top for extra dimension. The 'thanks' was die cut using the new Amazing Thanks Dies. I chose to use it with optional shadow to make it stand out a bit more against the cork.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
For the inside, I have a Balmy Blue mat for the writing panel and a strip of the cork paper at the bottom. I've stamped and coloured the smaller Daffodil image in the Daffodil Daydream stamp set and fussy cut it on the line.
