This week we are taking inspiration from the Punch Bundle section on pages 168-169.

CTC281_SU_Sample
My project this week is based on the simple and versatile layout of the card above. I've added a few more layers, but otherwise stayed close to it. In the catalogue it appeared that the patterned paper went to the edge of the card, but looking at it close-up, it appears to go over the edges or it could be a belly-band around the note-card sized base.

Stampin' Up! Playful Pets Sympathy Card - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I have used the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper for my pet sympathy card. For me, pets are members of the family and their passing is always sad and distressing for everyone. I started with a Basic Black card base and added the red and white striped design leaving a small border on all sides. Over the top I have layered the heart and paw print design with a narrow border of  Real Red on either side, taking it right to the edge of the card base.

I have die cut the scalloped heart with the Stitched Be Mine Dies and then dry embossed the inner heart with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder for some delicate texture. They were adhered flat to the card and overlapping. The cat was cropped from Basic Gray card stock with the Cat Punch and I've sponged the edges with Basic Gray ink to add some depth. I've popped the cat up on Black Dimensionals and added the bow using the cute 1/8" red and white design from the Playful Pets Trim Combo.  The sentiment is from the Prized Peony stamp set and I heat embossed it in white on Basic Black card stock and cropped it with the stitched banner from the Tasteful Label Dies. To finish I fussy cut some paw prints from the patterned paper and placed them in the bottom section of the card.

CTC281_Cat_Heart_Inside

For the inside, I have a Real Red  mat for the writing panel and I added a narrow strip of each of the patterned paper designs at the bottom. I stamped the sentiment from the Prized Peony stamp set in black ink and finished with a little red glimmer heart.

CTC281_Cat_Heart

With a change of sentiment, this card would be purr-fect (sorry couldn't help myself!) for a new kitty owner or cat lover or use the Dog  Builder Punch for a doggy card.

Prized Peony Sympathy Card

Hi there

I'm just popping in for a quick share today, of a card I made a little while ago when I was playing with the Prized Peony Bundle. I posted this card, but then forgot to show you the second one I made on the day.

Stampin' Up! Prized Peony Bundle - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I stamped the large Peony image from the Prized Peony stamp set  multiple times with Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock and then coloured the white space in between with the Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blends marker. I adhered the strip of white ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and then added it to a Whisper White mat and popped it up the panel on a Basic Gray card base.

Before adding the art panel to the mat,  I ran it through with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture, which you can see better in the photo above. I found it harder than I expected to get the colouring really even, but I actually think the slightly darker colour around the flowers adds some more depth. I have stamped the greeting from the Prized Peony stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink and then cropped it with one of the lovely new dies from the Tasteful Labels Dies and popped it up on the Basic Gray label from the same set. You can see it has a lovely embossed edge on it. I pulled in the ribbon at the top of the label with a piece of cotton and then added the bow with a glue dot.  This is a good trick if you find it hard to tie bows or aren't sure when the bow needs to be. The ribbon is very soft (it reminds me of gauze) and ties nicely. I finished with a little Silver Glimmer heart from the Well Written Dies

I have kept the inside simple, with a mat of Highland Heather for my writing panel. I have a partial stamping of the Peony image in the bottom corner with Basic Gray ink.

I hope I don't need a sympathy card any time soon, but it is good to have one ready in your stash.

This week 2, CASE-ing the layout of the Koala card in the photo above.

CTC262_SketchHere is the card converted into a sketch so you can easily see the key elements, which are 3 panels and a sentiment. There is lots of scope to get creative. This is also a great layout to use your designer paper in the background, with your decorated panels over the top.

Stampin' Up! Best Dressed Suite & Lily Impressions DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

This week, I've kept my card really simple, using beautiful designer paper to do the heavy lifting. I have a Thick Whisper White card base and a layer of the Lovely Lipstick painted canvas design from the Sale-a-bration Lily Impressions Designer Paper.  I have two stitched rectangles using a lovely floral design from the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. I cut a 4cm strip and adhered it to some Whisper White before die cutting to give it some body. In the centre is a stitched rectangle cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock. It isn't one of the designated colours, but it works well with the lighter tone of Old Olive.

Stampin' Up! Best Dressed Suite & Lily Impressions DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I added a Vellum oval across the centre before popping up my stitched oval with the greeting from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I've stamped some of the flowers from the Dressed to Impress stamp set to embellish the oval, colouring them with Stampin' Blends. The foliage is die cut from Old Olive card stock using dies from the Birthday Dies set, which is one of the new Sale-a-bration Coordination options now available. I feel that it needs a bit of bling, but couldn't make it work!

CASE-ing the Catty - Feels Like Frost DSP Colours

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!

If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Peta's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

CTC246_Banner
This week, we're CASE-ing the colours from the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper on page 40 of the Holiday Catalogue and taking inspiration from the layouts on the same page.

CTC246_Feels_Like_Frost_Colours
This paper incorporates a lot of colours, so plenty of options to choose from in this pack. The other fabulous aspect to this paper is that the reverse side of every sheet has a silver foil and white design that will coordinate with a lot of projects.

CTC246_SU_Sample

I've taken my inspiration from the card above, using one of my favourite designs from the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper.  I love the soft purple shades with just a touch of green and the soft blurred background. Instead of a Christmas Card, I've made a simple everyday card with a flexible greeting that could work as a birthday, get well, sympathy or friendship card. It's great to have some of these types of cards in your stash and this paper is perfect for them.

Stampin' Up! Feels Like Frost DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I wanted to maximise the beautiful designer paper, so I've gone for a large square card base (size is 13.5cm or 5 1/4") in Highland Heather and I added a white mat to the designer paper to give it a bit of pop. Can't get simpler than that.

Stampin' Up! Feels Like Frost DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs
For the embellishment, I started with a large oval of Vellum card stock, just to soften the background and give it more focus. I added a zig-zag of the lovely Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon to pick up the green in the paper and add a pop of colour. The greeting from Good Morning Magnolia was stamped in Gorgeous Grape and cropped with the Stitched Nested Label Dies. I shortened it by cutting 3/4 of the image first then moving the die to the length I wanted. This is a great technique to master as you get more mileage out of all of your basic shape and label dies.

The flowers in the paper reminded me of the foliage in the Frosted Bouquet Dies, so I cut some in Silver Foil and Vellum card stock and positioned them under the corners of the greeting label, which I popped up over the top. I finished with a little popped up Silver Glimmer heart and a sprinkle of Frosted Epoxy Droplets.

Stampin' Up! Feels Like Frost DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs
For the inside I have a Silver Foil mat for my writing panel and I have stamped the floral spray from the First Frost stamp set on the right. It also looks a bit similiar to the flowers on the designer paper and I used Stampin' Write markers direct to the rubber with Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green. I added a narrow strip of Silver Glimmer at the base to ground the floral spray.

CASE-ing the Catty - CASE-ing a Layout

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

I'm back this week to join the CTC Crew in case-ing a layout from page 36 of the new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue.

If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Michelle's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

These are the projects on page 36 of the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue using the gorgeous Magnolia Lane Suite.  Lots of great layouts here, but I decided to use the one in the bottom right corner.

CTC233_SU_Sample

So you an see it more clearly, I've cropped out the card above, that I'm using as my inspiration today. This is such a flexible layout that incorporates designer paper as well as some focus images and a greeting panel.

Stampin' Up! To A Wild Rose - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
I decided to ink up my new To A Wild Rose stamp set for the first time. This is a DistInktive style stamp set, so you get lots of fabulous shading in your image, plus it is also a Two-Step as well. You can combine an outline image with either or both of the solid images that are included, or you can colour the outline image using any of your favourite colouring methods. In addition to the rose, there is a set of two-step leaves and some lovely greetings in mixed fonts. I know I'm going to be using this set a lot.

My card base is Crumb Cake and I added a layer of Blushing Bride gingham designer paper.  The greeting from Good Morning Magnolia was stamped in Soft Suede and then cropped with the fabulous Stitched Nested Labels Dies. The leaves were stamped in Crumb Cake and then the outline image was stamped over the top in Soft Suede ink that was stamped off once.

Stampin' Up! To A Wild Rose - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I have used all 3 of the rose stamps, with the first layer being Blushing Bride, the second layer for the darker shading is the new In Colour Rococo Rose stamped off once and finally, the outline image in Soft Suede stamped off once. This set has the  coordinating Wild Rose Dies that I used to crop the leaves, but I elected to fussy cut the flowers right on the edge as I like look.  I've used one of the extra dies included in the set for the foliage in Gold Foil.  The front rose has been popped up and although difficult to see there is some white Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon peeping out from underneath.

Stampin' Up! To A Wild Rose - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
For the inside I have a mat of Blushing Bride and I've stamped some soft floral images from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in Rococo Rose (stamped off once) on the writing panel.
