Love you Lots

I'm taking a break from holiday season crafting today, to share a couple of cute cards using the 'Love you Lots' Hostess stamp set. It is so easy to forget the wonderful Annual Catalogue full of great project ideas and products. 

The 'Love you Lots' stamp set has 4 super cute images and 4 greetings.  This stamp set is only $16.00 for clear mount when you place an order of $250 or more before postage. To remind you, here it is.

For my first card I have water coloured the frog with the slightly quizzical look on its face and popped him in a frame. I've added a couple of empty frames behind him for a fun geometric look. For the background I have embossed Sahara Sand card stock with the 'Brick Wall' embossing folder. For a quick way to give the wall dimension, I've gone over the 'grout' with my Chalk Marker. 

 

The second card has lots of layers, but it all started with stamping the ladybugs and colouring them with a Stampin' Write marker - you can't get anything easier than that. I added the greeting at the bottom and then die cut with my Circles framelits. I then started at the bottom with the Watermelon Wonder card stock base to match the lady bugs and layered up the thick Whisper White embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder to keep the spotty theme going. Next, I added some interest with the layered Watermelon Wonder piece that has been scored every 1/4" using the Simply Scored Board. This is a simple way to add texture and interest to card stock. Another layer on top with the floral design from the versatile Designer Series Paper stacks, a banner and finally my ladybugs.

Gift of Love Keeps Giving

Today I want to show you the variety of ways you can use the 'Gift of Love' stamp set. It is a Hostess set that you can choose if you have a party or order over $250. It is a 9 piece, 2-step photopolymer set with 6 lovely script greetings in addition to the flower (which looks a bit like a gladioli). Settle in, as I have 5 cards to show you.

For this first card, I have used the 2-step option to colour the flower. I have used markers for the outline of the flower and leaves and then filled in the outline with the same stamped off colours. For some added texture, I have stamped and fussy cut the main flower again and popped it up on the main piece. I have stamped the sentiment on a small piece of cardstock and used the corner rounder punch to create a tab under the focus image. The whole panel was popped up on the Tip Top Taupe designer paper, that was trimmed with the Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped ribbon. Some linen thread was wrapped around the card to finish it off.

The next card uses a background splotch from the 'Work of Art' stamp set  to provide colour to the flower image. Many colour ways could be used for different looks, but I've gone with a soft combo to suit my sympathy card.

For this next card, I have used the flower outline as a silhouette, heat embossing in black. The clear Wink of Stella pen added some shimmer to the flower, which also slightly darkens the card stock.  I've wrapped doubled black Baker's Twine around the card and through the label and finished with a bow. The watermelon panel was popped up and a trio of banners and a scattering of rhinestones finishes it off. The greeting from the Rose Wonder stamp set makes for a lovely friendship card.

For the next card, I stamped the outline flower image on Shimmery White card stock and water coloured it with ink pads and an aquapainter. It is very quick to do and gives a lovely result. The greeting is from the 'Layering Love' stamp set. I've added some detail with the Curvy Corner Trio punch and a little silver bling butterfly and the whole panel is popped up.

For my final card, the flower outline image has been stamped and water coloured and then fussy cut and positioned next to the inlaid Tags & Labels greeting. The larger label was first die cut from the white panel and embossed with the 'Softly Falling' embossing folder. The white panel has been popped up with the 1/8" foam strips to give a really firm even finish. I've finished it with the pearl trimmed die cut butterfly.

New Catty Sneak Peak -'Love You Lots'

I have another of my OnStage samples to share with you today. This one uses the super-cute 'Love You Lots' Hostess set from the new 2016-17 Annual Catalogue that will be released on 1 June 2016. This is definitely one you want to add to your Wish List to purchase with the Stampin' Rewards that you earn when you place an order or host a party with sales of $250 or more. 

The set has 4 cute 'critter' images and 4 greetings that make for lovely thank you and friendship cards. The hedgehogs are definitely one of my favourites. I have stamped them on Shimmery White card stock and then used an aqua painter and ink pads to add a touch of colour. You don't need much so it is very quick to do.  Once that was dry I masked the hedgehogs and stamped the ground from the 'Sheltering Tree' set upside down for them to stand on. The sunburst from 'Kinda Ecletic' in the corner balances the greeting on the right that has been die cut with the 'Tags & Labels' dies. 

The image panel was added to the Tip Top Taupe card base that was stamped with the 'Hardwood' image for a tone on tone look. I've added a Watermelon Wonder trim on each side and some of the new Mini Striped ribbon forms the base for the white Baker's Twine bow.

OnStage Sample - You've Got This

I have another of my OnStage Local display board samples to share with you today. Watermelon Wonder is a favourite for water colouring and the flower from the 'You've Got This' stamp set shows it off beautifully. I have embossed the image on Shimmery white card stock and water coloured with my aqua painter and Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive ink pads.  If you haven't tried Shimmery White for water colouring, then you are going to be pleasantly surprised. I love the smooth surface and the subtle sparkle, but it also soaks up the water really well and stays flat.  

The background stamp from the 'You've Got This' set was stamped multiple times in Soft Sky ink to cover the Thick Whisper White base.  I added a strip of the lovely new 2015-17 In Colour Mini Striped ribbon (available 1 June 2016) and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink above it. White Baker's Twine was wrapped around the ribbon border and threaded through a medium sized Classy Designer button and finished in a bow. The fussy cut flower was popped up onto the prepared base and a trio of banners in different sizes added the finishing touch. The whole panel was then popped up on the Watermelon Wonder base card.

I recommend that before you fussy cutting this flower, you reinforce where the stem joins the flower by adding a narrow strip of card stock with Tombow on the reverse side.  This really helps to keep the card stock from cracking at the narrowest point when you are fussy cutting.

New Catty Sneak Peak - 'Layering Love'

I've got another favourite card from my OnStage display board to share with you. After having never made a card with Cucumber Crush, this is another that I was happy with. I love the colour combo of Cucumber Crush, Smoky Slate and Real Red together.  I've used the 'Timeless Textures' stamp set to create the background. The sentiment on the tag is from 'Layering Love', one of the new stamp sets in the 2016-17 Annual Catalogue. This set has 4 sentiments that work really well for friendship or 'just because' cards.

I've used markers to give the greeting on the tag more appeal. I wasn't able to use any products that were going to retire, so that left me without an option for red ribbon. Instead, I created a card stock 'ribbon', using one of the 'Timeless Textures' stamps to add texture and I really like the effect.
