As it is Mother's Day today, it is appropriate that we are CASE-ing a 'Love' project from the new 2023-24 Annual Catalogue.

I chose the sweet 3D packaging project in the photo above for my CASE and turned it into a card instead.

Stampin' Up! Delightfully Eclectic DSP and Two-Tone Flora | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

My patterned papers arrived this week, so I've used the pretty floral print from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper pack for the background on my card. I was going to leave the side edges bare as shown in the sample, but when I turned over the paper to see the pretty pink stripe, I couldn't resist! I added the pink stripes directly to the card and the floral panel to a piece of Basic White, to make it easier to wrap the twine around it. The treat box sample uses the Copper Clay jute from the 2023-25 In Color Jute Trim pack, but as I don't have that right now, I have coloured Baker's Twine with the Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends markers.

I've used the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies to crop the pierced circle from Bubble Bath card stock. This is such a lovely clear pink that we have needed in the colour collection. The foliage was cropped with a die from the Timeless Arrangements Dies using Garden Green & Old Olive card stock. The flowers were stamped in Bubble Bath and Cajun Craze inks using the Two-Tone Flora stamp set and cropped with the correseponding dies. The Bubble Bath circle is popped up over the twine and the foliage and flowers are adhered flat. The greeting from the Go To Greetings stamp set was stamped in Cajun Craze ink and cropped with a banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies and popped up over the flowers and foliage. I finished with a trio of tinsel gems from the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack in the Berry Burst colour, which works very nicely with Bubble Bath.

This week we are CASE-ing a project from the Country Floral Lane Suite on pages 8-11 of the 2023 January-April Mini Catalogue. I love the pretty pastels in both the Country Gingham and Country Floral Lane paper packs.

CTC404_SU_Sample
I've selected the project in the photo above for my inspiration this week. I like the use of the negative for the LOVE and making it the focal point of the card.

Stampin' Up! Country Floral Lane Suite & Alphabet a la Mode Dies | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I started with a small panel of Balmy Blue card stock and added Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back. The letters from the Alphabet À La Mode Dies were positioned and held in place with sticky note before die cutting.  You get two of the 'L' in the set of dies which is really helpful. In a stroke of luck, the die cut panel was the perfect size to fit evenly on the red heart design from the Country Floral Lane DSP. I liked the look of the hearts framing the greeting, so I decided to add a piece of Sweet Sorbet card stock to the back of the die cut panel.

The heart was fussy cut from the Country Floral Lane DSP after adding a scrap of Basic White to the back to give it more body. I popped up the heart and slipped the fussy cut leaves underneath. The 'friend' sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped in black, fussy cut and popped up over the heart and I finished with a small bow in white Baker's Twine.  I added a white border to the heart panel and then adhered it to the card base that I had covered with the blue plaid design from the Country Gingham DSP. A trio of gold sequins from the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins were the finishing touch.

For the inside, I have a Balmy Blue mat for the writing panel and I added a strip of the heart DSP down the right side.  I fussy cut the sweet blue bike from the Country Floral Lane DSP and added in the corner.

I hope you like my sweet friendship card!

CASE-ing the Catty - Sending Love & Hugs

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week! It has been ages since I've been able to join the Crew and I'm feeling rather out of practice, lol. After 10 months of renovations, I'm finally moving into my new craft room.  I'll share some pics after I'm unpacked and organised.

If you've come from visiting  Peta & Marvi, then welcome!  If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week the Crew are taking inspiration from a bundle in the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue .

CTC389_SU_Sample

I decided on the Sending Smiles Bundle for my card, using the sample above for inspiration. I think it was the textured backgound using the lattice from the Chic Dies that caught my eye, plus, I thought it would be nice for my Mum, who has been unwell recently.

Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Bundle & Artisan Additions Dies | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I don't have the Chic Dies, but I thought the lattice (of a different kind) from the Artisan Addition Dies might work. I cropped 2 panels from Thick Basic White and then fussy cut around the design to create standalone pieces that I adhered to a panel of Basic White. If I was doing this again, I would add the Adhesive Sheet to the reverse first, but I wasn't sure how it would turn it.

I stamped the flowers and stems and cropped them with the corresponding pieces from the Sending Dies and positioned them on the lattice. I decided on the detailed 'Sending' die, rather than stamping it and then die cutting. Foam Adhesive Sheet was adhered to the reverse of the Daffodil Delight card stock before die cutting, so the greeting adds another layer of texture to card. The smaller greeting was stamped in Garden Green and cropped with the smallest of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies, cutting twice to extend the length.  I finished with a trio of Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Stampin' Up! 2022-24 In Colors with Shaded Summer Stamp Set | Tutorial Available | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

The 2022-2024 In Colors are bright, bold and reminiscent of summer - bright sun, lush foliage, turquoise water and starry night sky. To celebrate the new colours, I’ve created a set of cards using many of the coordinating In Color products and you can gift them in a fab folder that you can make from a single sheet of 12” x 12” (30.5cm x 30.5cm) card stock. The folder will hold 6 full size cards (imperial or metric size) with Medium Envelopes.

This week we are taking inspiration from the All Occasions Section of the Annual Catalogue.  This is a huge section and so many great samples to choose from.

CTC372_SU_Sample

I chose the project in the photo above for my inspiration as it gave me the opportunity to try out some new products that I haven't used yet.

Stampin' Up! Hello Ladybug & Fancy Frames | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I've stayed close to the sample project, starting with a Balmy Blue card base and using the second design in the Fancy Frames Dies set also cropped from Balmy Blue. This is a die that would definitely benefit from having Adhesive Sheet adhered to the card stock first, to make it super easy to adhere to your project. Of course, I thought of this after I had cut it, lol. The greeting from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set was stamped in Night of Navy ink on Basic White. I popped the Frame over the top of the Basic White background when I set it up in the Stamparatus to get the placement right.

Stampin' Up! Hello Ladybug & Fancy Frames | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I've used the Medium Daisy Punch to create the Daisies and the Ladybug Builder Punch to create the Ladybird. I popped up the wings and added a vellum layer for extra interest. The black spots were created with the Classic Matte Dots. The centre of the Daisy is created with a die from the Poppy Moments Dies and I added a large glossy dot in Balmy Blue from the new favourite Glossy Dots Assortment. I added some Granny Apple Green leaves using the Pansy Dies and a little gold foliage with the Forever Flourishing Dies. I finished with a trio of new Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels. The photo doesn't do them justice as they are very pretty.
