CASE-ing the Catty - Online Exclusives

This week we're CASE-ing projects from the Online Exclusives. Stampin' Up! introduced the Online Exclusives category into the Online Store so that more product could be made available to you, more often.  An Annual Catalogue is lovely to flip through and a great creative resource, but once it is printed, that's it! New products are released into Online Exclusives every 2 months, commencing in January, so the next drop will be in March for customers.

To find the Online Exclusives, select Menu from the bar at the top of the Online Store, then Shop Products (from the list on the left), then Online Exclusives (in alphabetic order). The latest release of products will always be shown first. Did you know that the Online Exclusives products also have samples to inspire your creativity? When you click on Quick Shop under a product image, you will see sample projects using the products down the left hand side. You might need to click on the white down arrow at the bottom to bring them into view.

This is the sample (above) that I chose for my inspiration today using the Hearts of Elegance Bundle. The bundle is an obvious choice for Valentine's Day, but there are so many other occasions that you can let someone know you love them and you're thinking of them and that is what my card is for.

I chose a Melon Mambo card base to coordinate with the Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP. Three hearts were cropped from Basic White and Bubble Bath card stock and Gold Foil using the die from Hearts of Elegance Dies with the sweet pierced leaf pattern around the border. For the remaining 2 hearts I used patterns from the Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP and adhered the paper to the pierced hearts cropped from Basic White and trimmed around them. The pierced design would have been too busy over the patterns, so this allowed me to use the same size heart.

I randomly stamped a panel of Basic White with the 'XOXO' stamp using Bubble Bath ink and added it to a Gold Foil mat with a narrow border.  It is difficult to see on the photo, but it adds a subtle background. I added a layer of the mottled white vellum from the Graceful Greenery Vellum pack onto the Basic White, adhering it across the centre so it will be hidden by the hearts. This prevents the white pierced heart from just blending into the background.  The panel was popped up on the card base and the hearts were layered across the  centre, adding some 1mm foam pads to even things up where the layers double up. 

The greeting from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set was stamped in Melon Mambo ink and fussy cut and I split the sentiment into 2 pieces. This is a lovely sentiment and I love the mix of fonts. I finished with a delicate bow using the Iridescent Striped Trim that I cut in half and a trio of small gold sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins. The bow doesn't show up well on the photo, but adds a pleasing softness and texture to the card.

For the inside, I've kept the same dimensions for the writing panel with a Gold Foil mat and a strip of the Marbled Elegance Specialty DSP down the right side. I finished with the flower embellishment cropped with dies from the Sale-a-bration Heart Shaped Dies, which is a Level 2 product that is free with an order of $200 or more.

Wildflower Birthday Fun Fold Card

It was the first class for the year last weekend and we had fun making three pretty cards to get the year's birthday stash off to a good start.

This particular card is a variation of @suestampfield Susan Campfield's Floating Vertical Bandstand card. I love all the possibilities for decorating this fun fold to add some extra wow, without it being overly complicated to make. The clear acetate that makes the 'floating' panel allows you to see more of the lovely patterned papers in the background. It 'pops out' automatically when you take it out of the envelope, so no need for instructions on how the card needs to stand for display!

I have modified the dimensions of Susan's card to make better use of our metric A4 card stock and to add some extra real estate into the centre panel. This means it doesn't pop out at the front as much, but you have a little more space for your embellishments. It still folds flat to go into our Medium Envelope.

I used Thick Basic White card stock for the card base which I would recommend over the lighter weight Basic White used for stamping as it makes it really robust. The lovely pastel patterns of the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper were used to decorate the background panels and the contrasting gingham design (that is on the reverse of the floral) for the top and bottom bands.

In this close-up view you can see the acetate panel (Window sheet) that sits between the top and bottom bands allowing your embellishments to shine in front of the lovely background paper. The Wild Flower Specialty Birthday Designer Series Paper has 2 sheets of pre-cut pop out images that make it super easy to decorate your projects and being a specialty paper it has lots of lovely gold foil accents on one side of each sheet. The birthday greeting from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and cropped with the label die from the Sale-a-bration Heart Shaped Dies and added to the bottom band. I finished the embellishment with a sprinkle of cute Party Dots and a bow at the top using the (retired) Pool Party 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

You can see the fun pre-cut images in the photo above and I used the cupcakes, small flower clusters and balloons from the sheets for the ladies. My balloon is a little different as I created it using the retired Balloon Bouquet Punch, coloured it with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers and added a hand drawn gold embossed 'string' to supplement the numbers.

The panel for the greeting is on the reverse side of the card and I have a Pool Party mat with a tiny border and a narrow strip of the gingham paper at the base. The lovely sentiment comes from the Hearts of Elegance stamp set and I stamped it in Blueberry Bushel ink.

This week we're CASE-ing projects from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue and I want to show you some of the fabulous choices available. 

This is the sample (above) from page 13 of the Sale-a-Bration Brochure that I chose for my inspiration today. It's a simple layout using the pretty Heart Shaped Bundle, which is one of your Level 2  choices (requires an order of $200 AUD or more before shipping).

For my version, I chose a Petunia Pop card base to start with and the pretty Petunia Pop floral design from the Bloom Impression 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper that is a Level 1 option (requires an order total of $100 AUD or more before shipping). I added a tiny border of white so it would pop from the background.

I chose to use the largest pierced circle from the Stylish Shapes dies to host the vine heart and I added a little soft ink blending with Fresh Freesia ink to soften the background.  The vine heart shape was cropped from Blackberry Bliss card stock to coordinate with the darkest of the little flowers in the paper and adhered it to the circle. I cropped 3 of the little flowers, also from the Heart Shaped Dies to create a cluster around the greeting as well as the flower and foliage sprigs from Basic White.  This flower is the perfect size for little embellishments and the extra detail in the petals is lovely. The greeting is from the Spring Corners stamp set, a new one from the January - April Mini Catalogue, stamped in Petunia Pop ink and cropped with the label die that is also from the Heart Shaped Dies. I finished with a bow using the gorgeous soft Fresh Freesia 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon (a Level 1 option from page 9 of the brochure) and the smaller Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments in the centre of the flowers for a bright pop of bling.

CASE-ing the Catty - New Mini Catty!

Because the Mini Catalogue is not LIVE to customers yet, we can only show you the front cover, which you can see in the photo above. So tonight, I'm taking my inspiration from the gorgeous products from the Wildflower Birthday Suite, which is on pages 42-45 of the Mini Catalogue if you have your own copy already. After creating with holiday products for the past months, the soft, pretty colours in this suite are such a breath of fresh air.

I've taken the basic layout from the project on the front cover (which I think is a box) to create my card. I started with a Basic White card base and chose one of the floral designs from the Wildflower Birthday 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper with gold accents for the background. I added a tiny border of Pretty in Pink to help it pop from the white background.

On the reverse side of the floral design is the sweet Pretty In Pink gingham design. How often does it happen that your favourite designs are back to back? It seems to happen often for me and makes it SO hard as you always use them up quickly! I have added a mat of Basic White for the gingham panel with a tiny border and adhered it on a angle. The pierced border pocket shape is cropped from Basic White with the Birthday Celebration Dies and I popped it up on the gingham panel.

The Wildflower Birthday Speciality DSP has a sheet of coordinating pre-cut images that you can pop out for super quick embellishments on your projects. I have popped up the banner across the panels and used a variety of the floral elements to embellish the bottom corner of the pocket. Under the floral elements I have used some ofthe Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim to add some texture. I have a cut a piece of the trim in half to create separate pieces that make it a little easier to place. The greeting from the Birthday Celebration stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and then fussy cut and popped up. I finished the front with a few of the coordinating Party Dots.

I have used a leftover strip from the front of the card to create a border for the writing panel on the inside of the card. Another greeting from the Birthday Celebration stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink in the centre and I added the pre-cut cupcake and flower embellishment in the corner to finish.
