Heart of Christmas - Reindeer Days
September 16, 2024
Welcome to another week of Heart of Christmas. Each week, the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.
This week, I'm using a layout that is great for small prints and we have quite a few options in the Mini Catalogue this year. It's also great for using up scraps and makes 6" x 6" paper go a long way.
I've combined the small holly print from the Reindeer Days DSP and the red print from the Take A Bow DSP to create a border around the edge of the Pool Party card base.
The Basic White centre panel has been dry embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder and I popped up the sweet reindeer that I fussy cut from a sheet of the Reindeer Days patterned paper. I like to adhere images that I want to pop up onto copy paper first and then fussy cut them. It makes it more sturdy without being difficult to cut out. The Reindeer Fun Dies will crop 2 of the reindeer images from the paper, but there are lots that can be fussy cut.
The 'Merry' is a die cut from the Joyful Sayings Mix & Match Ephemera pack and I advise you to be gentle when removing the die cuts from the frame and be super careful adding small dots of glue to the reverse side, as it isn't possible to use a glue eraser on these fine die cut words. The 'christmas' from the Greetings of the Season stamp set was heat embossed in white on Garden Green card stock and trimmed closely. I finished with a trio of gold sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack.
For the inside, there is a Real Red mat for the writing panel with a strip of the holly design down the left side. I have fussy cut a partial reindeer image from the edge of the paper and added it to the corner. This is a great way to ensure these images aren't wasted.

That is one beautiful, bright and cheery Christmas card, Judy. I love the patterned paper layout with the Snowflake Sky embossed piece in the centre. Perfect for your frolicking reindeer and sentiment.

Lovely card Judy! The colour blocked border you have created with the DSP is a great way to use up smaller pieces of DSP. Great tip about adhering to copy paper before fussy cutting too.

A gorgeous card Judy. I adore the pieced DSP frame to showcase the reindeer and sentiment. You always have wonderful card inners too. xxx

Judy, I love this layout for small prints and I will definitely file it away for future blog hops. Thank you for the tips on fussy cutting from DSP and using and adhering the die cut from the Joyful Sayings Mix & Match Ephemera pack.
