CASE-ing the Catty - Layers of Beauty
July 28, 2024
Hi there
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week. I'm pleased to be back creating after a 6 week break for our holiday in Finland, Sweden and Norway. I'm feeling very rusty though and still working through the jetlag.
If you've come from visiting Courtney, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.
This week we are taking inspiration from an Embossing Project from of the 2024-25 Annual Catalogue. Embossing covers both the heat and dry embossing options.
I chose the project above for my inspiration, as I was looking for a simple layout and this one certainly fits the bill!
I started by stamping the large rose from the Layers of Beauty stamp set in Basic Gray ink and used the coordinating masks to colour the image with blending brushes using Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve ink. I chose to fussy cut the images, as I wanted to include some extra details that would have been cropped by the die.
I used the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder for the background panel and added it to a layer of Moody Mauve cardstock with a narrow border and then onto a Bubble Bath card base. The greeting from the Friends For Life stamp set was heat embossed in white on Moody Mauve cardstock and popped up over the images.
For the inside, I have a Moody Mauve mat for the writing panel and I added another of the ink blended roses in the corner and trimmed the excess.

A gorgeous card Judy. I love it. The 2 large roses form a beautiful focal point. I adore your colour combo and layering - both inside and out. xxx
