OnStage Melbourne Event

Hi there

Onstage_Banner

I'm thrilled to say I'm currently in Melbourne at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event. It's our first live, in person 3-day event for around 5 years, so it is wonderful to be able to gather with Demonstrator friends for a fabulous few days of craft, chat and food!

Last night (Thursday) we had new session called OnStage After Hours, which was an optional crafting session in the evening, creating with new products from the upcoming catalogue, including the new 2024-2026 In Colors. I chose to use the Spotlight on Nature Bundle and the fabulous coordinating dies are 3 sets of nesting circles with different decorative borders. This is one of those bundles where the dies can easily stand alone.

Today (Friday) was a full-on day of presentations, activities, demonstrations, crafting and catching up with friends. Of course, one of the highlights was getting our very own copy of the new 2024-25 Annual Catalogue to pore over and start the very long Wish List. A perk of attending the attend is that we also get to pre-pre order from a selection of products from the new catalogue.

We also had the opportunity to 'swap' handmade card fronts with other Demonstrators. The last time I did this was in 2017, so I'm not sure what prompted me to get my act together to do some for this event (maybe just the joy of being able to gather together again!).  I created full cards rather than card fronts, so that they could actually be used as it isn't that much more effort.

It's always a tough choice between details (I like a lot, lol) and being able to create multiples. I'm not sure I got the balance right with my card created with the new Online Exclusive Bundle Simply Zinnia. I love colouring, so the line images give you lots of scope to colour with different mediums and I've use Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers in bold jewel colours that Zinnia flowers are famous for.

I used the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder to add a layer of detail and texture to the background behind the flowers, with accents in black to help the colours to pop. The black foliage is cropped with the Gorgeously Made Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the Simply Zinnia stamp set in white onto strips of back card stock, so I just needed to trim the ends on an angle.  I finished with a trio of gold sequins. The flowers in this card are Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Berry Burst, but there were other combinations as well. You need a bit of variation when you are colouring 75 flowers!
