CASE-ing the Catty - Forever Love
February 04, 2024
Hi there
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.
If you've come from visiting Julia, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.
This week we are taking inspiration from the Forever Love section of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue, which is on pages 14-21.
I've chosen the pretty gift box project above from page 16 of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue for my inspiration. It was the ribbon detail that caught my eye on this project.
You will see the resemblance to the sample project, but I've turned my version into a birthday card. I added the fine leaf design from the Forever Love Specialty DSP to a card-sized piece of Very Vanilla card stock and added the vertical and horizontal pieces of Pretty Peacock & Gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon to the piece, finishing it on the reverse side. The panel was then added to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.
I decided on a round tag that mirrored the wreath die cut from the Lifetime of Love Dies. I ended up using a circle die from the retired Circles Collection Framelits to crop the Very Vanilla circle as it was the perfect size. I cropped the first wreath in Wild Wheat with Adhesive Sheet on the reverse and adhered it to the circle. The greeting from the Layering Leaves stamp set was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink before layering on a Gold Foil wreath that was also cropped with Adhesive Sheet on the reverse. It makes the wreath more robust, especially for the leaves outside the circle.
The roses were stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers and I chose to fussy cut them on the line, but there is a coordinating die to crop the image. To add more dimension, the centre rose was stamped, coloured and fussy cut and then popped up over the base image. I adhered the flowers with 1mm foam pads to even up the height over the edge of the wreath. I used a retired 1/16" inch hole punch to make the tag and threaded the Very Vanilla twine through and tied a bow behind the Pretty Peacock bow. I finished with a scattering of gold sequins.
For the inside I have a Pretty Peacock mat with a narrow border and a narrow strip of the fine leaf design at the bottom. I've stamped the daisy image from the Lifetime of Love stamp set and coloured it to coordinate with the flowers on the front of the card.
