CASE-ing the Catty - Last Week of Sale-a-bration!

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week. Wow, it's the last week of February already and the last week of the Sale-a-bration, too.

Last weekend we were in Brisbane catching up with our niece who was moving into her university accommodation and we picked up some recycled floorboards to (hopefully) repair our bedroom floor, so that we can refinish the hardwood floor and not have carpet. The jury is still out on that, but hopefully our amazing builder can make it happen!

If you've come from visiting Kathryn, then welcome!  If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

For our final CASE from the Sale-a-bration brochure, we have a very flexible sketch to get your creative inspiration going. It is based on the watermelon project on page 4 that is shown on the bottom right in the photo above.

You can see the bones of the layout more easily in the image above.

Stampin' Up! Sunny Days DSP & Paper Florist Dies | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I have stayed fairly close to the layout, using the bold floral design from the Sale-a-bration Sunny Days Designer Series Paper for the background with a narrower border than the sample.  This paper is a little different, in that the stems and leaves are black, so it gives it a pop. I wanted to bring in the black in my focus panel, but solid black was too harsh, so I used a strip of the black and white striped design from the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper that is in the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue behind the Basic White pierced panel. I used the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies and cut a second time to extend it into a rectangle.

For the embellishment, I decided to mirror the flowers in the background paper using the Paper Florist Dies. I created a trio of flowers to surround the 'hello' greeting from the Biggest Wish stamp set, that I stamped in Poppy Parade and fussy cut. The foliage was cropped from black card stock using the Timeless Arrangements Dies. I finished with a white Baker's Twine bow in the bottom corner and a trio of gold sequins.

For the inside I added a strip of the Pool Party striped design from the Sunny Days paper pack and a narrow border of Poppy Parade card stock and the Basic White writing panel above. The Petal Pink flower and black foliage was adhered on top of the border to complement the front of the card.

This week we are CASE-ing the Sale-a-bration brochure, again. We have a wonderful collection of products that you can choose for free, when you place a qualifying order of $90AUD or more before shipping.  PLUS, more products from the Annual Catalogue have been added to the items you can choose.  See all the Level 1 and Level 2 options in my Online Store and make sure to use the Sale-a-bration item number and not the item number in the Annual Catalogue (a little confusing, I know).

This week I was inspired by the awesome Trusty Toolbox DSP, which you can see much better in the Online Store. In particular the huge number of tools displayed on 2 sheets of the paper. There are some dies to crop the images, but you will need to do some fussy cutting as well.

I decided that the pop up Card In A Box would be the perfect way to make use of a bunch of the tools.  It makes a great masculine card for birthdays, Father's Day or to thank someone doing work for you. I made the card box from Lost Lagoon card stock which is one of the coordinating colours and then added some metal plate using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder and retired Silver Foil.

I have added 2 rails in the box and with the back, there are 3 surfaces you can attach the die cut and fussy cut tools to. I first added the peg board in Poppy Parade to the back and the side flaps and used 1mm foam pads to add the tools to the peg board and then to the rails so they are overlapping and looking like they've been thrown in!  I cropped the spanner from silver foil and added some silver foil accents to the drill and the snips with the dies, overlaying them onto the images cropped from the DSP and trimming where necessary.  The greeting from the Trusty Tools stamp set was stamped in Poppy Parade and cropped with the banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies and added to the top panel.  The 'thanks' from the Biggest Wish stamp set was stamped in black and fussy cut and popped up over the corner of the banner. The pencils were added to the other corner and I finished the banner with 2 black Classic Matte Dots

For the writing panel on the reverse, I have a mat of Poppy Parade and a strip of the metal plate at the bottom with a fussy cut screwdriver and a few nuts and bolts to finish.

The great thing about this card is that it folds up and fits into a standard Medium Envelope for posting.

CASE-ing the Catty - Forever Love

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week.

If you've come from visiting Julia, then welcome!  If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

This week we are taking inspiration from the Forever Love section of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue, which is on pages 14-21.

CTC455_SU_Sample
I've chosen the pretty gift box project above from page 16 of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue for my inspiration. It was the ribbon detail that caught my eye on this project.

Stampin' Up! Lifetime of Love | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

You will see the resemblance to the sample project, but I've turned my version into a birthday card. I added the fine leaf design from the Forever Love Specialty DSP to a card-sized piece of Very Vanilla card stock and added the vertical and horizontal pieces of Pretty Peacock & Gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon to the piece, finishing it on the reverse side. The panel was then added to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.

I decided on a round tag that mirrored the wreath die cut from the Lifetime of Love Dies. I ended up using a circle die from the retired Circles Collection Framelits to crop the Very Vanilla circle as it was the perfect size. I cropped the first wreath in Wild Wheat with Adhesive Sheet on the reverse and adhered it to the circle. The greeting from the Layering Leaves stamp set was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink before layering on a Gold Foil wreath that was also cropped with Adhesive Sheet on the reverse. It makes the wreath more robust, especially for the leaves outside the circle.

The roses were stamped and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers and I chose to fussy cut them on the line, but there is a coordinating die to crop the image. To add more dimension, the centre rose was stamped, coloured and fussy cut and then popped up over the base image. I adhered the flowers with 1mm foam pads to even up the height over the edge of the wreath. I used a retired 1/16" inch hole punch to make the tag and threaded the Very Vanilla twine through and tied a bow behind the Pretty Peacock bow. I finished with a scattering of gold sequins.

Stampin' Up! Lifetime of Love | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

For the inside I have a Pretty Peacock mat with a narrow border and a narrow strip of the fine leaf design at the bottom. I've stamped the daisy image from the Lifetime of Love stamp set and coloured it to coordinate with the flowers on the front of the card.
