This week we are CASE-ing the Sale-a-bration brochure, again. We have a wonderful collection of products that you can choose for free, when you place a qualifying order of $90AUD or more before shipping.  You can see all the Level 1 and Level 2 options in my Online Store and it gives you a much better view of the designer papers especially, with a close-up view of each design, that isn't possible in the brochure. The selection covers stamps, dies, bundles, designer paper and embellishments and many coordinate with other products in the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue so you get more value from the products you purchase.

I've chosen the project above from page 6 of the 2024 Sale-a-bration Brochure. It is a slimline style but slightly shorter, than the metric version using the Flight & Airy Designer Paper. I've got lots of birthdays in the first half of the year, so I'll be making mine a birthday card.

Stampin' Up! Flight & Airy DSP | 2024 Sale-a-bration | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I've gone with a standard metric slimline size in Basic White and I've added a layer of the watercolour wash Boho Blue paper from Flight & Airy.  I've cropped 3 pierced circles using Stylish Shapes Dies and added a strip of Bubble Bath behind them to ground them.

I've fussy cut the sweet bird images from the Flight & Airy paper and popped them up on the pierced circles. The birthday greeting from Artistically Inked was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and popped up. I liberally sprinkled the Bubble Bath sequins around to finish.

For the inside, I have added another panel of Basic White and a strip of the Boho Blue wash at the bottom. I've fussy cut the bird image from the edge of the paper and added it over the trim. I stamped the greeting from the Charming Sentiments stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink just above the centre.

CASE-ing the Catty - Bee Mine Section

This week we are taking inspiration from the Bee Mine section of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue, which is on pages 8 - 13. There are lots of cute samples here for projects where you want to send love.

Ctc453_SU_Sample
I've chosen the project above from page 9 of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue for my inspiration, as the  cute 3D frame caught my eye.

CTC453_Frame_Bee_Mie

I'm not sure of the size of the sample made by the Stampin' Up! concept artist, but the finished size of mine is 5" (12.7cm) square and the inside space is 4" (10.2cm) square. That means a starting size of 9" (22.9cm) square of the Sweet Sorbet design from the Bee Mine Designer Paper.  Once you know the principles of how the frame is made you can adjust the size as desired.  I have a tutorial available for a rectangular version, but the construction process is the same whether the frame is square or rectangular.

Once the frame is made, it is all about the decoration. I added a layer of the sweet floral into the centre. I stamped the greeting from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set with Poppy Parade ink on Basic White and cropped it with the coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. I cropped another in Pool Party and cut it in half to frame the greeting at the top and bottom. To give my greeting some focus, I popped it up on a Vellum circle cropped with the Deckled Circles Dies. The cute bees were fussy cut from other sheets of the Bee Mine Designer Paper and popped up at the corners. I added some foliage in Granny Apple Green cropped with a die from the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I adhered the embellishment in the centre of the frame, with Glue Dots adhered on the back of the Vellum circle where they couldn't be seen and finished with a couple of Petal Pink flowers from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments.

On the reverse of the frame, I have white writing panel and the flowers from the Bee My Valentine stamp set were stamped in coordinating colours of Petal Pink, Pool Party and Sweet Sorbet on Lemon Lime Twist stems. The panel was added to a Pool Party mat and adhered to the frame.

I'll be sending this to my Mum who is unwell at the moment and I hope it will bring a smile to her face.

Milestone Fancy Fold Birthday Card

Hi there

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of the new year and taking the opportunity to do a few housekeeping tasks in my craft room. With relocating and house renovations in the last few years, I haven't had the opportunity to sell my retired product as I normally would, so I've been busy sorting and listing all the products that I'm selling. If you're interested, you can see a list of my retired product for sale here. I only ship to Australian residents, sorry.

During our pre-Christmas visit to Western Australia in December, my husband celebrated a milestone birthday with a lifelong friend. As you would expect, I was tasked with making a special card for the occasion. This Slimline Tri-fold card is my go-to for milestone occasions as it has a real 'wow' factor.  It also fits into a standard metric business size  (DL) envelope with standard postage, if you need to post it.

I chose Blueberry Bushel and silver for a simple and elegant colour combo that still has a pop of brightness as well. The base card is Basic White with layers of Blueberry Bushel and a narrow trim of Silver Foil at the top and bottom.

I've used the retired Large Numbers dies and I cut 6 of each number in Smoky Slate card stock that had Adhesive Sheet added first. This allowed me to quickly adhere them all together and finally a layer of Silver Foil on top. This gives a fabulous dimension to the numbers that really pops. At the top of the first fold, I have the 'Celebrate' die cut from the Wanted To Say Dies. I cropped 2 of these from Smoky Slate card stock and adhered them together to make it more robust and added the fabulous Adhesive-Backed Silver Glimmer paper on top. To hold the celebrate in place, I have partially cut the shadow die from Window Sheet, so that I could sandwich it between the card base and layer of Blueberry Bushel and the die cut was adhered on top. You can see a slight reflection from the Window Sheet in the photo above. Using the Adhesive Sheets is the secret to putting this card together quickly and professionally without any messy glue residue to deal with.

I have left the writing panel in the middle plain, but you could add a greeting if desired. On the last panel, I've cropped 3 balloons with the Beautiful Balloons Dies from Silver Glimmer, Silver Foil and Gold Celebrations Specialty DSP (the reverse side is silver) with the Silver Foil balloon embossed with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. I added a silver string behind each balloon with a glue dot and then positioned them at the top; two are adhered flat and the front one is popped up.  I used the retired Happy Birthday Thinlits die cropped from Silver Glimmer, adhered below the balloons. I sprinkled some Silver Foil and Glimmer stars around all the panels.

I was very happy with the final result and hopefully the recipient liked it, too. If you're interested in making this card, I have a tutorial available. It uses different products and is a feminine version (shown below), so it gives you more ideas of how to decorate it.

CASE-ing the Catty - It's Sale-a-bration Time!

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week. It's Sale-a-bration time for 2024!

If you've come from visiting Michelle, then welcome!  If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the button at the bottom of the post.

I've chosen the project above from page 14 of the 2024 Sale-a-bration Brochure. It has the sweet flowers from the Softly Sophisticated Bundle in the background and the embossing folder peeking from behind the focus panel, but it was the old fashioned cart that caught my eye.

Stampin' Up! Softy Sophisticated Bundle with Flower Cart Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs.

I've kept the key elements of the layout, but changed up the colours and the placement of the greeting. I started by adding a layer of the Pecan Pie gingham to a Thick Basic White card base. Next up is a panel of Berry Burst card stock dry embossed with the Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder and added to the centre of the card base.

I cropped a panel of Basic White with one of the Deckled Rectangles Dies and then stamped the stems and flowers from the Softly Sophisticated stamp set across the bottom and popped it up over the embossed panel. The cart was cropped from Pecan Pie card stock using the Flower Cart Dies. The tray is a single die that cuts the 2 pieces and I used a sponge dauber and Pecan Pie ink to go over the grain lines on the die first, before die cutting so you get the lovely detail showing. More Pecan Pie ink was sponged around the edges and the 2 pieces of the cart were adhered together with 1mm foam pads for a little dimension. The wheels and stand for the the cart were cropped from Early Espresso card stock and I added Adhesive Sheet on the reverse side first.

The sample card has a layer of ribbon under the cart, but I used a 1/2" strip of Vellum to bring the cart out from the flowers without adding any additional colour. The greeting from the Flower Cart stamp set was heat embossed in white on Berry Burst card stock and cut into pieces. I wanted it to look a little playful, so I adhered the words a little randomly (my Mum would tell me I haven't put them on straight!).  I finished with a couple of  dragonflies from the Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds embellishment pack.

For the inside, I have use the Deckled Rectangle Dies to cut the writing panel and I cut it twice to get the length I wanted. I've stamped the set of 4 pots from the Flower Cart stamp set at the bottom in Pecan Pie ink, then the leaves in a mix of Granny Apple Green and Garden green ink and the flowers in Highland Heather, Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight & Bubble Bath using Stampin' Write Markers. The writing panel was adhered to a Berry Burst mat.

This week we get to ch0ose any project from the Mini Catalogue to CASE.

CTC451_SU_Sample
I've chosen the project above from page 64 of the 2024 January-April Mini Catalogue. I like the layout with the asymetrical cut of the designer series paper and use of the large image from the Stippled Blossoms stamp set, stamped in a single colour. When we see line images, we automatically think that colouring is required, but with the amazing shading in this image, colouring is definitely optional!

Stampin' Up! Stippled Blossoms Bundle & Perennial Lavender DSP | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

For the background, I've used 2 designs from the beautiful Perennial Lavender DSP - the mottled Gorgeous Grape design at the top and the Lost Lagoon/Shaded Spruce foliage design at the bottom. For the top section I have dry embossed with the new Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder. This folder creates a deeply etched design, so I adhered the designer paper to Basic White card stock first and spritzed it lightly with water on the back. In hindsight Thick Basic White would have been better as I still had some cracking on the designer paper, but I was able to turn it the other way, so it is under the rose.

Stampin' Up! Stippled Blossoms Bundle & Perennial Lavender DSP | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I added a couple of pieces of the retired Iridescent Ribbon under the large rose image that was stamped in Highland Heather ink and cropped with the corresponding die. Foliage was cropped from Vellum Cardstock and layered under the rose at the top and under the birthday greeting. The rose image was popped up on Dimensionals. The greeting from the Stippled Roses stamp set was heat embossed on white on Gorgeous Grape card stock with one end flagged and the other straight against the edge of the card. I added some Iridescent Pearls to finish.

Stampin' Up! Stippled Blossoms Bundle & Perennial Lavender DSP | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

For the inside, I have a mat of Highland Heather for the Basic White writing panel and in the bottom corner I've added the small rose that was stamped in Highland Heather ink and cropped with the coordinating die.
