This week we are taking inspiration from a project in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue and giving it a twist

I chose the pretty package in the photo above for my inspiration. My twist is that I have turned an embellished gift box into a Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! Christmas Classics Dies & Joy To You | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I started with a Thick Basic White card base and cut a card-front sized panel from Basic White and adhered the FA LA LA LA... design from the Merry Bold & Bright DSP.  Because it is rather bold paper and my embellishments are quite open, I decided to add a layer of Vellum over the top.  I rounded the corners to coordinate with the rounded rectangle die I used for the greeting. The pretty Iridescent Ribbon was laid across the centre and secured it at the back and the panel was adhered to the card base.

The greeting from the Joy to You stamp set was stamped in Real Red, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. The centre line was stamped separately and trimmed and then popped up over the top. I cropped it with the largest of the rounded rectangles from the Nested Essentials Dies. I cut it a second time to reduce the width. My pine branches, foliage and holly were layered around the end of the greeting as it worked better than just in the corner. The holly was cropped from Gold Foil and the berries from Real Red Glimmer from last year's Real Red & White 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper pack. I finished with the bow at the of the greeting which is so sparkly in the light and a sprinkle of gold sequins.

For the inside, I have added a Granny Apple Green mat and a strip of the FA LA LA LA... paper down the side, leaving a narrow border in between.

I love your CASE of the original, and funny yours flows onto the cards I made! What are the chances of that? I love your bright colour choices.

Great minds Judy! Love your version of the project, especially that vellum layer.
