This week we are taking inspiration from an embossing project from the 2023 September - December Mini Catalogue

I made it all the way to page 80 to choose the project in the photo above for my inspiration. It uses the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder for the embossed background the banners and tag sit on.  The versatile layout appealed to me as it would suit many of the holiday products that we have available currently.

(Note: I took my photos outside today and when I was editing them, I realised you couldn't see the embossing in the background very well, so I took this photo inside, which is why it looks different to the others.)

I started with a Thick Basic White card base and added another layer that was dry embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. I added the banners, using designs from the lovely Joy of Christmas DSP. I had forgotten how much I like banners, as they are not so much in favour at the moment as a design element.

I have used the largest of the pierced circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies to crop the Shaded Spruce circle to ground my spray of holly and berries from the Joy of Noel stamp set. I stamped the image in Garden Green ink instead of black and then coloured it with Stampin' Blends markers. I like the softer, more natural look that resulted. I popped it up on 1mm foam pads for a little dimension and added the Real Red bow at the base. I decided on a clean and simple look without any additional foliage. The greeting from the Wishes All Around stamp set was inked in Shaded Spruce and stamped on Basic White and fussy cut. I've popped it up on  Foam Adhesive Strip, which makes it super easy for narrow greetings. I finished with a trio of gold Festive Pearls.

For the inside, I added a strip of the Real Red plaid at the bottom, then a narrow strip of the Shaded Spruce design. On the Basic White panel above,  I stamped a partial image of the spray in the corner and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers.

Fabulous card, Judy! I love the banners, and the switch to a circle as the main feature works so well with the stamped image you've used.
