Heart of Christmas - Christmas Classics

Blog_Banner

Hi there

Welcome to another week of Heart of Christmas. Each week, the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will  bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.

This week I have a card in traditional colours, using the Christmas Classics Bundle.

Stampin' Up! Christmas Classics Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I think the square frame is perfect for a shaker card, so I cropped it from Gold Foil and framed it with the lovely Shaded Spruce design from the Joy of Christmas DSP

I added lots of the sweet Loose Holly Gems & Sequins to the shaker element and adhered it to Basic White mat. To add some interest to the background, I have dry embossed a panel of Real Red card stock with the cross-hatch design from ta he Basics 3D Embossing Folders and adhered it to the Real Red square card base with a narrow border. The greeting from the Wishes All Around stamp set was heat embossed in white on Real Red card stock and then fussy cut. I've popped it up across the centre of the frame.  There is a lot going on, but I feel like there is something missing? Let me know what you think.

Your card is perfect just the way it is Judy. Very clever idea to create a shaker element using the fabulous dies from the suite collection. A very festive card.

This is a gorgeous shaker card, Judy. I really love the colour combination of Real Red with Shaded Spruce - so pretty. The sequins are just beautiful, as is the gold foil die cut surrounding the shaker element.

I think that your card is perfect, just the way it is. You can't go wrong with classic green, red and gold for Christmas.

Theresa Gerrard

Such a beautifully composed traditional coloured christmas card and I agree the square shape suits the shaker card. Great choice for the embossing on the Real Red background. It's one of my favourites.

Kate Morgan

A lovely shaker card, Judy, in traditional Christmas tones. Each of the layers are very eye catching and the frame in gold is so striking.

A gorgeous Festive card Judy. I love it - the Christmas colour scheme, the shaker centre and the various layers that include embossing and DSP. All delightfully combined to send Christmas Greetings. xxx

Great idea to use the square frame as a shaker card, it works really well. I also love your traditional colour scheme, perfect for Christmas
