Heart of Christmas - Stars At Night
September 04, 2023
Welcome to another week of Heart of Christmas. Each week, the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.
This week I have a simple and hopefully, elegant card for you.
I started with a piece of the Night of Navy patterned paper from the O Holy Night pack. It has darker and lighter shades and a geometric pattern in the background as well. I adhered my panel to a piece of Night of Navy card stock to give it more body and then die cut the starburst from it. The greeting from Night Divine stamp set was heat embossed in gold at the bottom and it was adhered to a panel of Gold Foil which extends past the sides to form a narrow border.
With the light shining on the card, it shows lighter than it acutally is, but you can see the background pattern quite clearly. The starburst provides the backdop for the larger star cropped from the bright gold More Dazzle Specialty DSP. I popped it up on a 1mm foam pad for a little dimension and then layered the smaller star in Very Vanilla and the still smaller one in Gold Foil and finally the larger of the Adhesive-Back Star Trinkets. I have 3 of the very small stars in Gold Foil around the starburst and a small Christmas star next to the greeting.
The inside is super simple, with a writing panel the same size as the front, with the same Gold Foil border. The greeting from the Brightest Glow set compliments the one on the front and was stamped in the centre in Night of Navy ink.

Your card is exceptionally elegant Judy and hardly simple. I love all the small details and the texture you have been able to create.

Judy your card is very elegant with the dramatic background behind the glittering die cut starburst. A beautifully put together star with the additional star embellishments.

Such a lovely elegant card Judy. I do love navy and gold together. It's quite regal. That paper was the perfect choice, elegant but understated and those stars shine brightly on the lovely paper.

That background paper is so beautiful, and you've used it to perfection, Judy. I love the sentiment gold-embossed straight onto the DSP. The delicate gold matting, and die-cut details on your card, are really lovely. Yes, it is an elegant card. :)
