CASE-ing the Catty - Ginkgo Branch Dies

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week!  It has been a challenging week after our house was burgled and my laptop and Nikon DSLR camera was stolen. I'm making do at the moment with an old laptop and iPad for the photos, so I'm sorry the photos will not be how I would like them to be.

If you've come from visiting  Rebecca, then welcome!  If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing a project of our choice from the new 2023 January - April Mini Catalogue.

I chosen the project above from page 57 of the Mini Catalogue. It uses the Ginkgo Branch Bundle. I think I was attracted to the slim line shape and the way the die was used.

I started by cutting the card base from Thick Basic White to measure 7" x 8 1/4",  (17.8cm x 21cm) scoring at 3.5" (8.9cm). I then cut another panel from Basic White slightly smaller and composed my art panel on that.  Adhesive Sheet was added to the reverse of a panel of Basic White and 2 of the large Ginkgo Branch die were cropped from it. The original sample uses Shimmery White card stock with ink refills and Water Painters to colour the die cuts. I've chosen to use Stampin' Blends alcohol markers in Highland Heather, Mango Melody and Polished Pink. I've treated the solid sections, which are embossed by the die, as leaves and coloured them with Granny Apple Green.

I've adhered the 2 die cuts close to the edge and then added an extra 'flower' using the smaller die cut to fill out the space. I created a faux bow with the silver trim in the centre and then popped up the Highland Heather circle cropped with the Stylish Shapes Dies over the top. The greeting from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink and cropped with the banner from Stylish Shapes Dies. I've finished with some pretty 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.

For the inside, I've die cut the smaller Ginkgo branch and coloured it to match and popped it inside at the bottom right.

Your card is gorgeous, Judy! The bright colours look fantastic against the crisp white background. I hope that you recover your equilibrium soon, it's awful what you've been through x
