CASE-ing the Catty - True Beauty Birthday
July 17, 2022
Hi there
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week!
If you've come from visiting Monique, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week the Crew are giving the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue a little love; taking our inspiration from the Love, Thanks & Support section. There are heaps of great samples in this section to get the creative juices flowing.
The True Beauty Bundle arrived in the post this week, so I chose the card above on page 66 for my inspiration. The lattice die is the main reason I purchased this bundle, so now I have it, I need to get the value from it!
I wanted the lattice to be a feature of the card, so I've cropped it from Basic Black after first adding some Adhesive Sheet to the reverse (yay, I remembered!). I cut a panel of Pool Party the same size as the lattice and dry embossed it with the (sadly, retired) Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to give it a bit of texure, and then adhered the lattice die cut to it. This makes it super easy to adhere the lattice panel to your card base and you could have a different colour behind the lattice if you wanted to. As the lattice die is almost the same width as a metric card base, I have cut a custom card base from Pool Party card stock to provide a 3mm border.
I stamped the rose image from the True Beauty stamp set in Melon Mambo ink and cropped them with the coordinating die from the Organic Beauty Dies. I created some different shades by using a spoon to massage the ink into the ink pad for a slightly lighter colour. The leaf sets were stamped in Granny Apple Green and the foliage on the left in Garden Green. The greeting from the Potted Geraniums stamp set was stamped in Mememto Tuxedo Black and cropped with the label die from the Geraniums Dies. The gold twine was wrapped in a circle and adhered with glue dots behind the label. Then it is a matter of positioning the elements. I also popped in some extra foliage in Gold Foil and finished with a tiny Brushed Brass Butterfly on the label and a sprinkle of Iridescent Rhinestones.

I love the bolder colour scheme. The flowers look great on the trellis.

Oooh, the black lattice really pops, and is a fabulous backdrop for the gorgeous blooms. The colours you've used on your card are perfection - such a fantastic palette.
