This week we are CASE-ing a project from the Abstract Beauty Suite on pages 48-57 of the  2022 January-June Mini Catalogue.

CTC354_SU_Sample
I'm a bit time poor at the moment, so I've created a simple card using the sample above for my inspiration. I've turned it upside down so the designer paper is at the top and converted it to a stardard metric card.

Stampin' Up! Abstract Beauty DSP | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I started with a panel of Basic White and stamped the friendship greeting from the Sale-a-bration Friendly Hello stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink at the base. I've used the same bright Night of Navy floral design from the Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Paper pack as the sample, placing the angle at the bottom of card rather that at the top. Each sheet of paper in the pack has gold foil accents which appears as the centre of each of the pink flowers in this design.

I dry embossed the panel with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and added the Magenta Madness decorative border that I die cut from one of the designs in the Ornate Layers Dies set and then the White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon finished with a double bow. I stamped the greeting again in Magenta Madness and then fussy cut the 'friend' and popped it up over the top of the stamped greeting. I finished with 3 of the Brushed Brass Butterflies.

For the inside, I used the other side of the angle cut from the Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Paper with the same Magenta Madness decorative trim at the bottom of the writing panel.

This week we are CASE-ing a project of our choice from the 2022 January-June Mini Catalogue.

CTC352_SU_Sample
I've used the card above for my inspiration. It is a fairly simple card using the lovely Flowing Flowers stamp set. This is a DistINKtive™ style stamp set, so there is a lot of built-in shading with just one impression of the stamp. It has 6 sentiments in great font combos as well.

Stampin' Up! Flowering Flowers Stamp Set | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I've stayed close to the layout, stepping it up with some extra layers, textures and embellishments. I started with a Thick Basic White card base and added a layer of Polished Pink card stock that I dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Stampin' Up! Flowering Flowers Stamp Set | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
For the art panel I've stamped the smaller floral image with the leaves a few times and masked it to add leaves and some random splatters in other areas. The larger floral image was stamped separately with the Stamparatus using Polished Pink ink and I used a sponge dauber and Melon Mambo ink to add some extra colour in the heart in the heart of the flower, before fussy cutting and popping it up over the leaves. The art panel was adhered to a panel of Just Jade card stock leaving a narrow border.

The birthday greeting from the Blessings of Home stamp set was stamped in Polished Pink ink and I flagged the ends before adding to a mat of Just Jade card stock.  I wrapped a few strands of white Baker's Twine around the art panel and finished it with a bow underneath the popped up greeting. The art panel was popped up on the Polished Pink mat and I added some extra fussy cut leaves under the large flower and finished with pearls in the large flower, on the greeting and under the twine.

I've kept the inside simple, with a mat of Polished Pink card stock for the writing panel and the larger flower partially stamped in the corner.

CASE-ing the Catty - Sale-a-bration!

This week we are CASE-ing the 2022 January-February Sale-a-bration brochure.  There are lots of great samples in the brochure that you can use for inspiration and to kickstart the creative process, even if you don't have the specific products used.

CTC351_SU_Sample
I chose the card above for my inspiration. It was the brightly coloured stripes at the top and the scalloped border that caught my attention.  When I looked closer, I realised the coloured stripes was actually one of the designs from the fabulous Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper that is a FREE Sale-a-bration item you can choose with a $90AUD order. Unfortunately, it isn't currently available in Australia due to shipping delays (unloading the ship in Australia), but hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Stampin' Up! Abstract Beauty DSP & Special Moments Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration) | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

As I don't have the  Rainbow of Happiness Bundle or the coordinating Sunshine & Rainbows DSP, I decided to use the pretty pierced and scalloped border from the Scalloped Contour Dies with the bright floral design from the Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper for my card. The striped designer paper at the top would be replaced with strips of card stock.

I started with a Thick Basic White card base and added my bright strips of card stock at the top. I took the colours from the designer paper and cut them 2.3cm wide to create the narrow white space at the junction of the scallops. The scalloped border was adhered next and I decided to add a narrow band of Gold Foil to echo the gold foil accents in the designer paper. The greeting from the Special Moments stamp set (also a Sale-a-bration option you can choose with a $180AUD order) was stamped in Magenta Madness ink and popped up on a piece of Just Jade card stock. I've used the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon underneath the greeting as it is very close to Magenta Madness. I finished with a trio of the cute Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments.

For the inside, I have a mat of Magenta Madness cardstock and the edge of the writing panel has been cropped with the scalloped border die and finished with the band of Gold Foil and a narrow strip of the designer paper.

CASE-ing the Catty - Front Cover 2022 Mini Catalogue

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Happy New Year and welcome to CASE-ing the Catty! I hope you've had an enjoyable holiday season and are now relaxing after the hectic preparations and lots of food!

If you've come from visiting  my lovely friend Tina, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are CASE-ing the front cover of the brand new 2022 January-June Mini Catalogue. You can commence purchasing from the catalogue from 4 January, so just a couple more sleeps to go.  Not forgetting we also have Sale-a-bration commencing as well, so you can earn some FREE product with an order of $90AUD or more, before shipping. Due to the ongoing, worldwide supply chain issues, there will be a few products that won't arrive in time for 4 January, but hopefully they won't be too far away.

The card on the front cover uses the beautiful Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper and the Tulip Fields Bundle. For my card, I've used the Hello Friendly stamp set and coordinating Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper, which together are a Level 2 Sale-a-bration reward for a $180AUD order.

Stampin' Up! Friendly Hello Stamp Set & DSP | 2022 Jan-June Sale-a-bration | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
The main elements to the sample card are the frame, positioned wider at one end; the strip across the bottom of the frame and the embellishment. I cut my frame using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and the pretty striped designer paper. I've flipped my wide end around, as it worked better with the large greeting I stamped onto the Fresh Freesia designer paper in black before popping up the frame with Foam Adhesive Strips.

Stampin' Up! Friendly Hello Stamp Set & DSP | 2022 Jan-June Sale-a-bration | Judy May, Just Judy Designs

For the band at the bottom I have used the new white 3/4" Frayed Ribbon that has a soft, slightly fuzzy texture and then added the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon over the top. The flowers from the Hello Friendly stamp set were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut on the line. I finished with a trio of the new Brushed Brass Butterflies. These cuties are self-adhesive, so super easy to use.
