CASE-ing the Catty - Sketch Challenge
December 12, 2021
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!
If you've come from visiting Michelle, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week we have a sketch challenge based on the project above, from page 47 of the 2021 July-December Mini Catalogue.
This diagram shows more clearly the key elements of the sketch, with the angled element on the left and the bow cutting across at the point.
I've created a very soft Christmas card using the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Paper. I have to say, this paper has grown on me over time and today I've used the soft colours in the holly print as the basis for my card. I cut a card sized piece of Basic White and added the Mint Macaron diamond print before stamping the greeting from the Christmas to Remember stamp set at the bottom in Mossy Meadow ink. I positioned a piece of Blushing Bride card stock on top to create the angle and then traced around it and cut the shape. It was then easy to add the holly print, leaving a narrow border on two sides and trimming the other two sides, before adhering to the panel. The Blushing Bride Baker's Twine was wrapped around the panel and tied in a bow.
I used the (retiring) Poinsettia Dies to cut and emboss the layers of the flower from Snowy White Velvet Sheet. All the layers can be cut and embossed at the same time, making it quite quick. A little Blushing Bride ink was added to the edges of the flower with a sponge dauber to give the layers a little more definition. The layers were offset and I finished with three Evening Evergreen rhinestones from the 2021-23 In Color Jewels. The foliage was die cut from silver foil and position around the Poinsettia.
For the inside, I have a Mint Macaron mat for the writing panel and I added a strip of the designer paper on the right, with the same Blushing Bride border I used on the front. A fussy cut holly sprig was added to the bottom left corner.
This is a great layout for using your coordinating designer papers and is quite addictive, so be warned!

All your Christmas cards using pink are so delightful Judy, and this one is no exception. The poinsettia is so pretty with a light blush to its petals, and that might just be one of my favourite papers you've used too. Gorgeous!

Beautiful card Judy I love the colours, and the little border is perfect to make your offset panel pop. I love this so much.

What a stunner, Judy! The soft colours are delightful, and I love the pink-edged white poinsettia.
