Heart of Christmas - Peaceful Deer

Heart of Christmas Header 2021Hi there

Welcome to Heart of Christmas for 2021. Each week (until mid-December), the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will  bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.

I'm pleased to be able to join the team today to bring you some holiday craft inspiration. I have used a variety of products on my card, but it is overwhelmingly non-traditional! The colour combo in the Whimsy & Wonder Suite is a fun and  contemporary take on traditonal Christmas colours.

Stampin' Up! Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP & Peaceful Deer Bundle | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I started with a Polished Pink card base and added the panel of Basic White embossed with the snowflake design from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder. This is pack of 2 of the narrower embossing folders. I chose 3 designs from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Series Paper pack and created the banners, using the Banners Pick A Punch to flag the ends. I haven't used banners for ages, but they create a nice background for your embellishment. They are also a great way to use up the strips that are left over from other projects.

For the embellishment, I've used the 2nd largest of the Layer Circles Dies and adhered the pretty die cut star from the Christmas Trimmings Dies. The deer from the Peaceful Deer stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink and cropped with the coordinating punch. I popped up the deer above the greeting, and added some tiny pearls at the end. I finished with a bow in Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon at the top of the star.

Isn't the texture from the embossing folder lovely?

Beautiful use of these papers and embossing folder Judy. The inclusion of the deer and diecut star make for a stunning card with lots of interesting elements.

Oh, wow, so beautiful! I love the banners on the crisp white background and the deer looks wonderful, dashing across your card.

The die-cut star is a lovely "landing place" for the deer, Judy. I love the white embossed background, and the sentiment banner, especially. Very pretty card, my friend.
