This week we are taking inspiration from the Painted Christmas section (pages 16-23) of the 2021 July-December Mini Catalogue.

I've chosen the 3D treat bag above for my inspiration, as I like the layout and the ombre background.

After measuring the Ombre Gift Bags, I decided to use the Soft Succulent version as the background for my card. It would cover the entire card front, but I decided to leave a border to show the Misty Moonlight card base. It is quite thin, so I adhered it to a piece of Basic White before layering onto the card base. Next comes a piece of my favourite design from the Tidings of Christmas DSP.

I used the medium sized label from the Seasonal Labels Dies and the Cherry Cobbler striped design from the Tidings of Christmas DSP to create a contrast to the Evening Evergreen design. I found the label a little too large so I popped it back in the die and cropped a bit off one end. As the edges are straight, this is super easy to do. I used the large detailed die from the Christmas Pinecone Dies to create the foliage with Just Jade card stock. I tried Evening Evergreen, but it was too dark and Just Jade works well with Soft Succulent. I've stamped the stocking from the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set in Misty Moonlight and popped it up on the label.  The greeting  also from the same stamp set, has been stamped in Shaded Spruce, which I also used for the holly on the side of the stocking. I finished with a trio of stars cropped from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper with the Stitched Stars dies.

For the inside I have an Soft Succulent mat and a strip of the Evening Evergreen designer paper down the right hand side. At the bottom is a stamped Cherry Cobbler stocking with the Shaded Spruce holly trim.

That's a different idea, using the bag when you're CASE-ing the bag! Sweet card Judy.

So clever to use the gift bag ON the card to get the lovely ombre look!! Great card - and the bright stockings are a lovely finishing touch.

Great case. I love the addition of the blue with the other traditional Christmas colours.
