CASE-ing the Catty - Stepping Up Mini Catty Project

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

It is lovely to be back for another week of CASE-ing the Catty after an eventful couple of weeks.  Sadly, my lovely mother-in-law Betty passed away;  it hardly seems any time at all since we celebrated her 95th birthday with a lovely party of her friends. Life can take unexpected turns very quickly, so it is a reminder to make every day count! Now onto happier things.

If you've come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are  stepping up a project from the 2021 July-December Mini Catalogue.

I've chosen the card above using the Merriest Moments Bundle for my inspiration.  It is a fabulous bundle of products, with so many creative options.

Stampin' Up! Merriest Moments Bundle Shaker Christmas Card | Judy May, Just Judy Designs
I've had in mind for a while, to create a shaker card with this bundle of products. As we are stepping it up this week, it seemed the perfect opportunity. On my Basic White card base, I added a layer of Silver Foil and then the Fresh Freesia layer, that was was embossed with the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder. This wasn't totally necessary for the project, but I wanted the sweet little stars in the background.

To create the shaker element, I die cut the detailed outline from Basic White card stock and then used the included stitched label to die cut the centre from the piece. Next up the die cut frame was popped into the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder to create the fabulous detail you can see in the frame. The greeting from the Merriest Moments stamp set was heat embossed in white on a piece of Window Sheet and adhered behind the frame and the shaker element was created in the usual way. I added the Subtle Shimmer Sequins, which work well with the white and silver theme. The finished frame was adhered over the Fresh Freesia embossed layer.

For the embellishment, I heat embossed the larger Poinsettia flower from the Merriest Moments stamp set in silver and used the coordinating die to crop it. I added some foliage elements using the Christmas Trimmings Dies in 2 colours of silver foil. The darker one has a pinky tone that works well with Fresh Freesia.

Such a classic 'Judy' card - absolutely gorgeous! All the embossing - dry and heat - looks amazing.

I'm sorry to hear about Betty, I hope that you were able to travel over for the funeral x

Stunning card! Love the colour choice and the sentiment heat embossed on the window sheet to make the shaker card, finishes it off nicely.
