CASE-ing the Catty - Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite
September 05, 2021
Hi there
Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!
If you've come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
The 2021 July - December Mini Catalogue is now LIVE and you can earn fabulous FREE products with a qualifying ($90AUD or $180 order) during Sale-a-bration (3 August - 30 September 2021). This week we are taking inspiration from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite on pages 8-15 of the Mini Catalogue.
I've chosen the card above from page 12 of the July-December Mini Catalogue for my inspiration. I'm really into clean and simple cards at the moment, so this layout appealed to me for it's simplicity and flexibility.
I decided to pull out some of last year's favourite products, that carried forward to the current catalogues, for my card. I started with a card-sized panel of thick Basic White and dry embossed it with the polka dots from the Checks & Dots 3D Embossing Folder pack. This is a narrow embossing folder, but it is very easy to line up the dots to cover the whole piece. I then added a piece of the lovely red and green striped design from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper pack and a narrow band of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper at the top.
I created my Poinsettia flower using Red Velvet Paper and the Poinsettia Dies. I like to use a sponge dauber and Real Red ink to cover the white core of the paper and add a little extra depth to the edges, before putting the layers together. I finished the flower with a trio of gold Metallic Pearls. The greeting from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set was heat embossed in white on Real Red card stock and I decided to add the greeting at the bottom of the striped panel.
For the inside, I have a Real Red mat for the writing panel and I added a piece of the striped designer paper at the base and a narrow band of the Be Dazzling Specialty Paper.

I created another card with this layout, using the Snowflakes Wishes stamp set and So Many Snowflakes Dies this time. I stamped the snowflakes in Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia ink and layered them with the small detailed snowflake cropped from retired Silver Glimmer on top. The snowflake sits on the silver and white striped paper from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Paper pack.

The sponging on the red velvet is brilliant! I love both your cards and you've really made them so beautifully!!

Your cards are both so beautiful. I love the classic Christmas colours of the first, and the slight tweak to the layout looks great. The purple card is gorgeous! The metallics add a real pop to the card.
