Heart of Christmas - Delicate Baubles
August 23, 2021
Welcome to Heart of Christmas for 2021. Each week (until mid-December), the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects.
This week I have a couple of clean and simple monochrome cards for you. The design would be a perfect if you need to make more than a few as well. The layouts are the same, but different colour ways to give you a different look.
This first card has a layer of Pool Party to create the background for the large bauble from the Delicate Baubles Dies that I cropped from silver foil. The outline die was used to cut the shape from the Basic White top layer, before adding the greeting from the Happy Holly-Days stamp set at the base in Coastal Cabana ink. I also dry embossed it with the dots from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder. As the folder is narrow, you will need to emboss twice to cover the whole area. I popped up the Pool Party layer on the Basic White card base, but you could leave it flat for posting.
For the inside, I have a Pool party mat for the writing panel, with a narrow strip of the silver and white striped design from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty Designer Paper pack. I stamped the clump of trees from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in the corner using Coastal Cabana ink and a Soft Suede Stampin' Write marker.
For the second option, I decided to up the bling factor by using red foil for the background layer. It is really hard to photograph, but looks very elegant in real life.
I left the top layer plain apart from the greeting, but added a bow at the top of the bauble in my favourite (retired) Silver Metallic Edge ribbon. I'm sure it would look equally as good in the green foil as well.

Love your cards Judy. They are simply delightful. I love them both - the embossed dots give subtle interest and the shimmer of the red foil really does shine through on the second card. Xxx

Very pretty cards, Judy. I am a blue girl, but I am actually drawn to your red card more, maybe it's the contrast in colour with the white.

Oooh, these are great! I can't decide which I like better - I prefer Pool Party over red, but it's hard to go past the Red Foil!

I love the delicate baubles in the silver foil. Your card is very clean looking on the white background. I can't decide which one I prefer best.

Oh, I love how you've inlaid the detailed baubles into the larger "matting" shape cut from the front panel on your card! I have only used the larger of the two bauble dies as a mat for the detailed one. This is a great look, Judy. Beautiful cards.
