CASE-ing the Catty - All Occasions Section

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty! After a crazy busy 4 weeks relocating to Queensland, I've got my temporary craft space set up and enough of my supplies handy to create a card for you this week.  I'm looking forward to getting my first proper order from the new 2021-22 Annual Catalogue this week.

If you've come from visiting Lauren, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are taking inspiration from the projects in the All Occasions Section of the 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. This is a huge section that stretches from page 10 to page 59, so I'm sure you'll find something you will love to CASE.

This week, I've chosen the project above for my inspiration. I love the clean look even though there are a few layers and it gives me the opportunity to crack open my Pansy Patch Bundle. The Pansy Petals Designer Paper includes all of the 2021-23 In Colors, so this is a great suite to use with your other In Color products.

I started with a thick Basic White card base and I decided to go for a slightly brighter look with a layer of Pool Party card stock that I dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder for some lovely texture. I added the Square Vellum Doily with a strip of double-sided tape on the left side where it would be hidden and then the strips of designer paper from the Pansy Petals pack. The greeting from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped on a narrow strip (1.5cm) of Basic White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The Pansy Dies set has a number of dies that cut the leaves and 2 sizes of pansies from sheets of the Pansy Petals Designer Paper. This makes for quick and easy cards if you're short on time. I wanted to add some extra dimension to the large pansy, so I die cut the Freesia and Blackberry Bliss pansy from the designer paper first, then die cut another from Basic White card stock. I cut around the face of the pansy (the Blackberry Bliss section) to create 2 pieces. The Freesia back petals were adhered to the Basic White shape. The front section was shaped with a bone folder to slightly curly the edges and then adhered to the Basic White shape with a Dimensional (go around the top with a Blackberry Bliss marker to cover the white core). I also slightly curled the back petals forward and popped up the finished pansy with a Dimensional. Unfortunately, the photo doesn't really show the fabulous dimension that this gives the pansy. The two smaller die cut pansies and leaves were positioned around the large one to hug the greeting. I finished with a cute little gold bumblebee from the Bumblebee Trinkets on the end of the greeting strip.

For the inside, I have a Pool Party mat for my writing panel and I've added a strip of the Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent striped design down the left side. On the right, I have a small Fresh Freesia pansy in the corner.
