This week we are CASE-ing a project from any catalogue and giving it an Easter twist.

I was inspired by the sweet spring banner above from page 22 of the 2021 January - June Mini Catalogue. I couldn't resist that sweet bunny and my favourite Arrange a Wreath Bundle, which is sadly retiring. It will be staying in my stash a little while longer though.

Stampin' Up! Springtime Joy & Arrange A Wreath for Easter | Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
Despite being Autumn in the southern hemisphere, Easter is always depicted in pastel colours. My background colour is Highland Heather, which has been dry embossed with the Dazzling Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Due to the width I did have to run it through twice and it came out well; you just need to be careful lining up the design the second time. I adhered the panel to a thick Basic White card base. The background of the centre panel is the lovely soft Purple Posy striped designer paper from the Playing with Patterns stack and I added a mat of Silver Foil. Unfortunately, it shows up more grey in the photo than it really is.

I adhered the plainer wreath die cut from Vellum and then the more detailed wreath die cut from Granny Apple Green popped up over the top. The Easter eggs from thhe Arrange A Wreath stamp set were stamped in a variety of pastel colours and then die cut. To get a lighter tone, I used the back of a teaspoon to push the ink down in the pad, before inking up the stamp.  The greeting from the same stamp set was stamped with a lighter tone of Basic Gray and cropped with a die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Once the greeting was in position, I popped up the eggs around the wreath.

The sweet bunny from the Springtime Joy stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray ink and coloured with Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends with a touch of Petal Pink on the ears, nose and cheeks. The flowers in the head band are the same colours as the eggs with a tiny 1mm rhinestone in the centre of each. The bunny was fussy cut and popped up at the base of the wreath. I finished with a little die cut flower on the greeting and a sprinkle of rhinestones.

For the inside I have mat of Highland Heather for the writing panel, with a strip of the Purple Posy designer paper at the bottom. I have stamped and coloured the little chick with Stampin' Blends and added a group of stamped eggs in the opposite corner. The greeting stamped in Basic Gray is from the Springtime Joy stamp set.

CASE-ing the Catty - Sketch Challenge

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

It's great to be back with CASE-ing the Catty this week, after our successful 2 week visit to Queensland to find our new home!

If you've come from visiting Peta & Marvi, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Well Suited Suite on page 66 and in particular, the bow tie trio card in the centre of the photo above.

CTC310_Tie_Sketch

Here is the card, translated into a sketch so that you can better see the key elements. This is a great layout that lends itself to a lot of options for the 3 decorative elements in the centre.

I arrived home to a brown box containing the new early-release Butterfly Brilliance Collection. This collection includes the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, Butterfly Bijou 6" x 6" Designer Paper and the Natural Touch Specialty Paper. You can purchase all of these items as a collection for $125.00AUD, which includes a 10% bundle discount. Inventory is now LOW, so if you're still thinking about this lovely collection of products, don't wait too long! The two papers are exclusive to this promotion which runs until 3 May or while stocks last. The Butterfly Brilliance Bundle will be available in the new 2021-22 Annual Catalogue. You can also purchase the products individually in case you wanted more of the Butterfly Bijou paper, while stocks last.

To create my card, I've used the circles design from the Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper to cover my Basic White card base. The colour listed on the pack is Just Jade, but it is really a much closer match to Bermuda Bay, I think. I have used Night of Navy card stock to mat the small butterfly design from the Butterfly Bijou pack. To add a bit more pop, I cut 4mm strips of Night of Navy card stock and positioned them behind the centre panel, which was popped up on Black Dimensionals.

The detailed butterflies were cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies. There are 6 to choose from in varying sizes and I used Night of Navy for the large and Bermuda Bay for the smaller ones (oops, just saw that I missed poking out a piece!).  I added Vellum underneath so they wouldn't get lost in the background, using the large die (6 connected butterflies). Put a small piece of Vellum under the butterfly of your choice to cut them individually. I finished them with white Elegant Faceted Gems.

For the inside, I have a Night of Navy mat and a narrow strip of the butterfly designer paper down the left.  I stamped the same shape butterfly as the front in Night of Navy ink and coloured it with Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy Stampin' Blends. The butterfly was fussy cut and popped up in the corner.
