CASE-ing the Catty - Sketch Challenge
November 01, 2020
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty challenge!
If you've come from visiting Rose, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week we have a Sketch Challenge based on the project above from page 159 of the Annual Catalogue.
This is the project translated into a sketch to make it easier to identify the key design elements.
I started with a white card base and added the Shaded Spruce design from the 'Tis the Season' Designer Paper Pack. For the second panel, I've used another design from the same pack in Real Red and Cherry Cobbler and added a mat of white so it pops from the background.
I used the North Pole Wonder Dies to cut a tag from Seaside Spray card stock and lengthened it about 1cm. The inside of the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder was inked with Shaded Spruce and the tag placed right side down onto the ink before running it through my machine. To define the trees a little more, I used my ink blending tools to add some Just Jade ink over the embossing. I also added some Seaside Spray ink around the edges at the top (I probably could have added a bit more I think).
The gorgeous reindeer was cropped from Brushed Copper and popped up on the startburst circle, which I had stamped multiple times with a greeting from the Cherish the Season stamp set. A length of 1/4" gold ribbon from the Boho Indigo Medley and the starburst circle complete the elements from the sketch. The greetings from the Peace & Joy stamp set were stamped in Real Red ink, fussy cut and popped up.
For the inside, I have a Shaded Spruce mat for my writing panel and a strip of Real Red designer paper down at the base. I've stamped the little cluster of pine trees from the In The Pines stamp set at the bottom and the greeting from Joyful Holly in the centre.
