Heart of Christmas
October 19, 2020
Welcome to the Heart of Christmas showcase for October. Dare I say it's another month closer to Christmas and in fact it's only 67 days to the big day! I'm hosting the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team who have fabulous projects to get you inspired. Make sure you follow the links at the bottom of the post to see what they have created and give them some comment love.
This month, I decided to focus on one suite from the 2020 August-December Mini Catalogue and I chose the Snowflake Splendor Suite.
There are lots of great products in this suite even if you're not into 'christmas stars' (aka snowflakes). The Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper is gorgeous and so are the Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems. I used all of the products in my cards, apart from the Snowflake Spendor ribbon. You can purchase any or all of these products from my Online Store (link in the sidebar on the right or click on the image above.). I also have a sneak peek at a new bundle of products that will be available for customers to purchase from 3 November. Now onto the cards.
For this first card, I have focused on the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper, which is ON SALE for $17.00AUD until 31 October 2020. I started with a Balmy Blue card base and added the layer of Whisper White with the designer paper attached. The greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas was stamped at the bottom in Gorgeous Grape ink.
I have used 3 of the designs, together with a strip of Highland Heather card stock that was first embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and then embossed again with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I really like the effect and hope you can see a little of it in the photo above. For the snowflake, I've used Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape ink for the stamped layers and Silver Foil in between. I finished with a large Night of Navy gem in the centre.
This card features the beautiful Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and added a layer of the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper. I mixed up some shimmer mist using the Frost White Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol and sprayed it liberally over a panel of Whisper White card stock. Once it was dry I embossed it with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder and adhered it to the Balmy Blue Glimmer mat. It is very pretty in real life.
For the embellishment I die cut the label from Stitched So Sweetly Dies in Balmy Blue Glimmer and added a strip of Silver/White Metallic Edged ribbon. The greeting from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set was stamped in Night of Navy ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder so I could spritz it with the shimmer mist and not have it bleed. The snowflake is a combination of stamped layers in Balmy Blue and Night of Navy with Silver Foil in between and Balmy Blue Glimmer on top finished with a Night of Navy gem.
For the final card, I've used a design from the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper for the background with NEW products that will be available from 1 November 2020. I dry embossed a piece of Hightland Heather card stock with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and cut the dotty border with a die from the new Curvy Dies to create the 'hills'. I re-cut the left over piece again for the smaller 'hill'. Isn't it pretty? There are three designs in the 6" borders, all having a 'curvy' shape. The greeting is from the coordinating Curvy Christmas stamp set, which I heat embossed in white, before dry embossing. The stamped layers of the snowflake are in Balmy Blue and Gorgeous Grape with Silver Glimmer in between and Silver Foil on the top and finished with a Balmy Blue gem.

Judy you have created three stunning cards, made with the DSP I never knew I needed. :) I particularly like number one but number three is an absolute beaut too. Love the way you incorporated the use of the new Curvy Christmas stamp set and Curvy dies.

All three of your cards are just gorgeous, Judy. I love the colours and the layered snowflakes, the use of embossing folders, ribbons and gems - all just simply gorgeous!

Oh what pretty Cards Judy, I love this set and I really haven't had enough time to play with it as of yet. Please don't ask me to pick a favourite as that would be so hard.

You've been very busy, Judy! The colours in this suite are so beautiful, and your cards are lovely. I am very taken with the Curvy Dies, so I think your third card is my favourite. :)
