This week we taking inspiration from the flowers in the new 2020-21 Annual Catalogue and wowee, there are lots of fabulous floral stamp sets and dies to get the creative juices going!
The Peony Garden Suite went straight to the top of my Wish List as soon as I saw it in the new catalogue. The whole product coordination in this suite is amazing! Peonies are such gorgeous flowers and on our trip to Europe in 2018, we visited St. Fagan's Museum in Wales where they have this fabulous garden surrounding the Elizabethan Manor that is part of the museum. There were long beds of peonies of many colours that took my breath away. This is a photo I took at the time, so you can see why the image in the catalogue jumped out at me.
So this is what I came up with. Nothing can match nature, but I love the detail and shading in the Peony image.
To create the background, I stamped the greeting from Tasteful Touches stamp set and did a bit of ink blending with Seaside Spray. I also stamped the diamond pattern in Gray Granite before popping the panel into the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the panel to my Seaside Spray card base and layered on the Gray Granite frame, created with the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
I stamped the Peony flowers and leaves in Basic Gray ink coloured them with Stampin' Blends; Rococco Rose and So Saffron for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. I cropped them with the coordinating dies from the Peony Dies. There is a lot of shading in the flowers, making it easy to colour. I added a trio of the new Elegant Faceted Gems, that are SO sparkly. There are 2 sizes and 3 colours - clear, white and the colour I've chosen which is a pinky brown colour.
For the inside, I have a mat of Gray Granite for my writing panel. I've used the sweet scalloped border die from the Peony Dies at the base. It isn't very clear, but there is also an embossed scallop as well. In the top corner, I partially stamped the Peony flower again and used the same colours.
You can see more of the texture from the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder in this photo.

Lovely card and beautiful colouring. I love when a stamp set jumps out at you because of wonderful memories you have that tie in with it. It makes it even more enjoyable to create with it as you remember the special moments.
