CASE-ing the Catty - Favourite Retiring Bundle
May 03, 2020
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty challenge!
If you've come from looking at Angela's super cute cards, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This is week 1 of taking inspiration from our favourite retiring bundle. I'm thankful we have 2 opportunities to be inspired by this theme as there are so many bundles that I have enjoyed from both the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue and the January-June Mini Catalogue. The year seems to have gone so fast (again!) and there are lots of products I haven't found the time to use, so I chose a bundle that I haven't yet had the opportunity to ink up.
I chose the sample above using the Birthday Julibee Bundle for my inspiration this week. I love the colour combo of Lovely Lipstick and Gray Granite, but my initial inspiration was the decorative border on the card.
I started by cutting a square of Lovely Lipstick card stock and using the small decorative die from the Jubilee Beauty Dies to create a border. I wasn't sure how the sizing would turn out, but it was within 1/4" and I trimmed it on 2 sides to create the 12cm square, which I added to my thick Whisper White card base. I used the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies to create the Whisper White square in the centre, which fortunately turned out to be the perfect size. Sometimes, luck is with you when you are 'winging it', lol.
I've coloured the floral spray wth Stampin' Blends and popped it up over the labels from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut a second image of the large flower and popped that up as well. The bottom label is cut from Gray Granite and I used the Detailed Trio Punch to punch a hole in each side so I could thread through the Lovely Lipstick ribbon. I'm sorry to see Lovely Lipstick retire, but we are getting a beautiful new pink in the 2020-22 In Colours, that I can't wait to get my hands on.
Just a reminder, that the Last Chance products are flying out the door, so don't delay if there are still items on your Wish List. The Birthday Jubilee Bundle is still available at the moment. You can check them all out in my Online Store.
