CASE-ing the Catty - Favourite Retiring Bundle Week 2
May 10, 2020
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty challenge!
If you've come from looking at Monique's lovely project, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This is week 2 of taking inspiration from our favourite retiring bundle. This week I have chosen a bundle that is fully retiring.
The Tea Together stamp set and its coordinating Tea Time Dies is my favourite of the tea pot and cup sets that Stampin' Up! have brought out over the years. I love the line images that can be used with lots of techniques and the small flower images have found their way onto lots of cards. Both products are still available in my Online Store and are reduced in price for an added bonus.
I've gone with Lovely Lipstick again this week, using it for my card base. Next up is a layer of gold foil to complement the images that I have heat embossed in gold. As with the sample, I have also used the Tufted Embossing Folder that is also retiring, but have used the debossed side, which is more subtle and barely visible in the photo above. To provide a background for my tea set, I have cut one of the decorative frames from the Ornate Layers Dies in Vellum card stock to create a 'runner'and placed it diagonally across card.
I've paper pieced the body of the tea pot and cup with the lovely Best Dressed Designer Series Paper, which is also retiring. The other sections I have lightly coloured with Petal Pink Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. The tea pot has been adhered flat and the tea cup has been popped up. The lovely friendship greeting is from the retiring Honey Bee stamp set and I've cropped it with the stitched label from the All Dressed Up Dies. I finished with a Lovely Lipstick bow (my very last piece of this ribbon) and a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
Just a reminder, that the Last Chance products are flying out the door, so don't delay if there are still items on your Wish List. You can check them all out in my Online Store.

Hi, Judy. Your card is beautiful! I am making table decorations for our church women's tea on July 15, 2023, and fell in love with the little paper-pieced teapot and cup/saucer images. I do have this stamp and die bundle but I am totally stumped as to how you did the paper piecing. Can you give me some pointers, please? (Thank you in advance.) Vickie Merrick

Gorgeous card Judy, I love the paper pieced tea pot and tea cup and saucer. The vellum “runner” looks great too.

Stunning Judy! Love the detail in your tea set.
I especially like the use of your layering and the clever twist of your vellum layer on the reversed embossed piece.

Love the paper piecing on the teapot and teacup. The floral print combined with the foil embossed edges remind me of some tea sets my grandmother used to have.

That DSP is perfect for a tea set, takes me back to a set my Nonna had. I remember thinking it was so fancy looking. Thanks for sharing, your card is beautiful.
