Did you notice the new colour in the list above - Bumblebee. Not too many guesses required to work out what colour this will be a shade of, lol.

Our inspiration is the flowers in the Ornate Garden Suite and I've decided on the large floral image from the Ornate Style stamp set, using the White Wash Technique.

Stampin' Up! Ornate Garden Suite - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I started with a Seaside Spray card base and cut 1cm off the bottom edge and used one of the border dies from the Ornate Borders Dies to create the decorative edge. This die is quite long, so you will need to place it on a sharp angle to cut the bottom edge of a card base. I heat embossed the large floral image with white embossing powder and then used my aqua painter and White Craft reinker to colour the whole image.

Once the image was really dry I put a drop of reinker in various colours onto a bunch of acrylic blocks and used my aqua painter to colour the image. To achieve shading and deeper colours, you need to allow the area to dry before adding a second layer or deeper colour.  This technique results in a fairly soft look, but using reinkers you can achieve more intensity. For the daisy flowers, I did a second coat of Craft White and then added a little Smoky Slate around the petals to make the white pop a little more.

I stamped the greeting from the Label Me Bold stamp set in black and then trimmed it with my snips and popped it on Dimensionals, once the whole piece was dry.  I added a 1/4" strip of Whisper White card stock above the decorative edge and then added the Crinkle Seam Binding ribbon over the top, finishing with a bow on the left. The card underneath gives the ribbon a stronger white look.

For the inside, I added a 1" strip of the black and white striped design from the retired Golden Honey Specialty Designer Paper at the bottom. For the writing panel, I have used a die from the Ornate Layers set. This die is also long (almost the full length of a card base), so I have reduced the size to work within the space available. To make this process easy (no-fail), cut a piece of cardstock the width of the actual die (in this case 10cm) and then the length you require, plus 2mm.  Place the die at one top edge and position the acyrlic cutting plate to cut only 3/4 of the length of your card stock.  Lift the die off and reposition at the other end of the card stock, locking it into the design already cut. Place the acrylic cutting plate over the end to be cut, just covering the length required to complete the design. I use this process with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and was pleased that it works equally as well with this die, making it more flexible.

I stamped and coloured the single daisy flower, also from the Ornate Style stamp set and coloured it with Stampin' Blends in the colours I used for the main image. I fussy cut the flower and adhered the stem flat and popped up the flower head. The greeting is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.

Absolutely gorgeous card, Judy! Your colouring is perfection, but I'm most impressed with your die cutting for the inside! It's seamless!

Beautiful colouring with the white wash technique. The daisies look amazing with the extra white and grey around the edges of the petals. Great card.

Stunning, Judy. Your colouring as always is perfect, and the white embossing is divine. I love the strip of black and white along the bottom, it really sets off the coloured flowers beautifully.
