CASE-ing the Catty - Easter Sketch Challenge Week 2
April 05, 2020
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty challenge!
If you've come from looking at Siobhan's lovely project, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This is the second week of our sketch challenge to create a card for Easter.
This week I have turned the sketch 90o to the left to create a landscape orientation for my card.
I have used the rest of the strip of designer paper from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper pack that I cut for my card last week. The reverse side of the pretty Mint Macaron and gold foil design is this sweet floral design that says Easter/Spring to me. We seemed to have skipped Autumn for a very wet and wintry weekend here in Melbourne, so this pretty floral design boosts my spirits. I layered it on a Whisper White panel with the pretty decorative edge that was cut with a die from the new Ornate Borders Dies. All of the products in the Ornate Garden Suite, which is new in the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue are now available to purchase from my Online Store and there is lots to love!
The floral panel was adhered to a card front-sized panel of Petal Pink that was dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I've wrapped some of the 1/4" Terracotta Tile silky and shimmery ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack around the panel and finished it with a bow. The Petal Pink panel was adhered to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base.
I have coloured the sweet rabbit from the Fable Friends stamp set with Stampin' Blends. I've used Crumb Cake (light and dark) for the body with a touch of light Petal Pink in the ears, on the nose and cheeks. I wanted to match his jacket to the darker of the small flowers in the floral print, which is a lighter and slightly pinker shade of Terracotta Tile. As we don't have that colour in our Stampin' Blends, I have improvised with a combination of Light Calypso Coral and Light Cajun Craze and I then went over it with the Rich Razzleberry watercolor pencil to add the pinkish tone. I've fussy cut the image on the line and popped it up on the stitched oval. I added some grass and sponged colour in Old Olive at the base of the oval to ground him. The finished embellishment was popped up over the floral panel and I added the coordinating small flower from the Ornate Style stamp set at the bottom. The 'happy' is die cut in Whisper White using the Well Written Dies and the 'easter' from the retired Crazy For You stamp set has been heat embossed in white and then cropped with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
For the inside, I have a stamped the border of the writing panel with the small flower cluster from the Ornate Style stamp set and then coloured it with Stampin Blends in Dark Petal Pink and Old Olive with the centre in Light Calypso Coral. I then went over the flowers lightly with the Rich Razzleberry watercolor pencil to create the slightly pinkish tone in the designer paper.
