CASE-ing the Catty - Sale-a-bration Week 1
January 19, 2020
Hi there
Welcome to CASE-ing the Catty for this week. It is week 1 of CASE-ing the Sale-a-bration Brochure and we are free to choose from all of the amazing projects shown.
If you've just come from looking at Tina's lovely project, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
The Happy Birthday To You stamp set is one of my absolute favourite items from the 2020 Sale-a-bration brochure.
I selected the card above for my inspiration sample. I love the birthday cake image as it perfect for colouring in lots of different ways.
I started with a Rococo Rose card base and added a layer of Crumb Cake that was dry embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. I used a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink around the edges to add some depth. Next, I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and then used a Stitched Rectangle Die, cutting twice to create a custom size for my cake. I matted it on Rococo Rose and popped a piece of the Pearlised Doily underneath before adhering it on the right hand side of the card.
I've used Rococo Rose & Old Olive Stampin' Blends to colour the flowers on the cake with Gray Granite for the stand and centres of the flowers. As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew that I would want to fussy cut the cake and those sweet flowers and I popped up the cake on the embossed panel. However, you will be pleased to know that from 4 February, you will be able to purchase the coordinating Birthday Dies for this stamp set. The greeting from Happy Birthday To You was heat embossed in white on Rococo Rose and flagged.
In addition to a die to cut the complete cake with stand and flowers, there is also a die to just cut the 3 flowers - woohoo! You can now use those sweet flowers on lots of projects without fussy cutting. There are also some foliage dies and a separate cake stand as well.
For the inside I have cut the 2 largest Stitched Rectangle Dies in Crumb Cake and Whisper White. I stamped another cake image and used the die I mentioned above to crop the 3 flowers. I cut away the separate flower and popped it in the corner, with the joined flowers at the base. I did cut these apart too, popping up the larger flower. I stamped a few of the little dots in Crumb Cake ink around the flowers.
While I had everything out, I made this coordinating gift tag. I've used the tag die from the Bonanza Dies on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, with a smaller Stitched Rectangle to cut out the centre. I popped up the tag frame on a piece of Rococo Rose that I cut to shape by tracing around the tag and then leaving a narrow border. I stamped the greeting from Itty Bitty Birthdays on a piece of Whisper White that I cropped to size with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I stamped the birthday cake and then used the coordinating die to cut the 3 flowers, separating the 2 joined flowers to colour them. I've used one of the foliage dies fom Birthday Dies to cut some additional leaves in Pear Pizzazz.
