This week I decide to christen the Timeless Tropical Bundle from the Tropical Oasis Suite.
I selected the project sample above for my inspiration with the Hibiscus and Frangipani flowers as the main focus. They remind me of the days we lived in a tropical area and were typical flowers in the gardens as they are so hardy.
As you can see I've pretty much done a full CASE of the layout, changing up the colours from the sample for a brighter result. My base card is Terracotta Tile and I added the Petal Pink layer that was dry embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, also part of the Tropical Oasis Suite. The birthday greeting was stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White and positioned under the opening that was cut prior to the embossing.
The thing that really struck me when I was playing around with the different elements, is that there are so many options for how you can use this stamp set. You can stamp the images in any colour straight onto Whisper White; stamp the images onto coloured cardstock as I've done for the leaves; or stamp the images and colour them or any combination of the above! I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow onto Granny Apple Green card stock for a bold and bright look. There is such a lot of shading in the stamp, it really didn't need anything else. The Hibiscus was stamped in Early Espresso ink and I used a combination of Stampin' Blends and Watercolour Pencils for the colouring. For the Frangipani flowers, I wanted a softer look, so I stamped first in Gray Granite before colouring. I coloured some rhinestones for the Frangipani and sprinkled a few more around.
I have kept the inside simple with a white writing panel and I stamped the top of the small pineapple stamp in Granny Apple Green to create the border at the bottom. The Hibiscus flower is partially stamped in the corner in Early Espresso (stamped off) and then coloured with Stampin' Blends and Water Colour pencils.
