Heart of Christmas - Week 16

HoC_Header_2019_Blog
Hi there

Welcome to Week 16 and the final of Heart of Christmas for this year. I'm hosting the lovely ladies from the Art with Heart team this week, so make sure you check out all of the links at the bottom of the post to see their inspiring Christmas creations.

I've got another simple but elegant card for you this week. As we get closer to Christmas, simple is good, right?  I really like the bauble design from the Brightly Gleaming Speciality Designer Series Paper, but I have found it difficult to use. So my mission this week, was to find a simple layout that lets it shine.

Stampin' Up! Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I started with a Night of Navy card base and then added a layer of Copper Foil that I dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  It adds lovely texture and interest to a simple layout. The centre panel is also Night of Navy with some of the bauble design paper at the top. I've heat embossed the greeting from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set at the bottom. I finished with the Pretty Peacock/Old Olive ribbon around the centre panel, tied in a bow at the front. The centre panel was popped up on the foil background.  In my haste to get it photographed I forgot to add the 3 Metallic Pearls that I coloured with the Bronze Stampin' Blend Marker.

Stampin' Up! Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

For the inside, I have a Copper Foil mat for the writing panel and some designer paper at the bottom.  In the top corner, I've used some of the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements. These are fabulous for quick and easy embellishment.

Beautiful card Judy, I so love the Brightly Gleaming DSP and am so happy it will be back next year.

Michele Taylor

It is so funny how some of the most beautiful DSPs intimidate us Judy. However, you nailed. In this case less IS more. Stunning card.

Mary

Absolutely love how you used the copper foil!! The embossing is gorgeous on it...

Kate Morgan

What a gorgeous clean card, Judy, with this suite. It is just perfect!

Tina Gillespie

I'm with you, Judy, in that I have struggled with that DSP sheet too! I wouldn't have guessed that you were struggling too - your card looks amazing!

Andrea Sargent

Beautiful card Judy. Love the subtle embossing on the copper, your selection of the baubles DSP in the Brightly Gleaming pack, & the luscious double sided ribbon - you've combined them all beautifully. A special thank you for co-ordinating tonight's blog hop. xxx
