CASE-ing the Catty - CASE any Holiday Catalogue Project
December 15, 2019
Hi there
Welcome to the last week of CASE-ing the Catty for 2019! It has been such a blast showing you how fabulous the Stampin' Up! catalogues are for inspiring your craft projects.
If you've come from looking at the beautiful project on Rebecca's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week we have free reign to CASE anthing from the Holiday Catalogue. Woohoo!
There are so many fabulous samples that I could have chosen. I was looking for something quick, as I'm still feverishly trying to get all of my Christmas cards into the post.
The gift box in the photo above popped out at me, with the lovely copper and vanilla ribbon generously tied around it. I decided to create a card using the major elements in the sample.
I started with a Very Vanilla Thick Card base and layered on the beautiful navy and copper star design from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP. I adhered the designer paper to a Very Vanilla panel first, to give it more body and then added the vertical strip of the 1/2'"Classic Weave Ribbon with the copper greeting on it. I decided not to go with the horizontal strip as it looked a bit too much on the card. I added the bow over the top, as it is quite difficult to get all surfaces to face in the right direction with a single sided ribbon design. The way I achieve this is to take a strip of ribbon and create 2 loops like bunny ears and then tie them into a knot. I tied a piece of cotton around the vertical ribbon, where the bow was to go, to pinch it in.
For the tag embellishment, I had to adjust the scale slightly to suit the card. I adhered some of the Old Olive designer paper to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock before cropping it with a circle die from the Layering Circles set. The copper foil branch from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements was added first, then the Pretty Peacock bauble that was heat embossed in Copper and the smaller bauble punched from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP was overlapped and popped up. The Copper Foil star was popped up on the edge of the large bauble and a copper star from the Star Designer Elements was added to the centre. I added another of the copper stars to the right to finish. A 1/16" handheld punch was used for the hole at the top of the circle and I threaded some Linen Thread through and tied it around the bow. A couple of foam pads at the bottom keep it in position.
For the inside I have a Copper Foil mat for my writing panel and a strip of the navy and copper star designer paper at the bottom. I added another of the copper foil branches at the top and adhered a 1" Night of Navy circle behind the foil bauble.
I used every item from the Brightly Gleaming Suite on this card, apart from the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. This has been one of my favourites this Christmas season with the coordinating products making it so easy to create luxe cards and packaging. Did you know all of the products in this suite apart from the 1/2" Classic Weave ribbon and Foil Elements will be carrying over to the 2020 Holiday Catalogue?

Gorgeous card Judy. I love the layout of the box shown as a card. Great tip too for tying the bow, very clever.
