CASE-ing the Catty - Come to Gather Suite
November 03, 2019
Hi there
Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!
If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Monique's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
This week, we're CASE-ing from the Come to Gather Suite on pages 46-51 of the Holiday Catalogue.
I've had a super busy week, but none of it involved creating, so my mojo has felt a bit AWOL for the last few days. Anyway, I took my inspiration for today's card from the sample in the bottom left of the photo above, although the finished result may not look too much like it!
I've used a piece of the navy and copper designer paper from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Paper pack that I had cut. It wasn't the full width of the card but I went with it and added a narrow border of Copper Foil on each side. I like the extra navy card stock showing to offset the designer paper.
I wanted to keep my card clean and elegant with the boldness of the navy and copper designer paper, so my embellishment is a lot simpler than the sample. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and then cropped it with the second largest of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and then added the leaves from the Christmas Layers Die in Copper Foil. My favourite greeting from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was heat embossed in ivory embossing powder on Night of Navy card stock and cropped with a Layering Circle Die. I popped it up over the leaves and added 3 small stars cropped from a scrap of Copper Glimmer paper to finish.
For the inside, I have kept the same layout as the front, with a panel of Very Vanilla trimmed with a narrow border of Copper Foil. I have a small branch in the top corner to hang off the bauble cropped from the same navy and copper designer paper.

Absolutely stunning, Judy! The navy and copper are fabulous together, I love how your simple layering lets the colours shine.

I love the way this turned out, Judy! The narrower matt makes all that copper foil really pop. I love that you've kept to that simple colour palette as well. Great card, this would be a great for mass producing for Christmas cards.

This card is beautiful, combining some of my favourite colours. I love the sentiment, beautiful words in a stunning font. Great card

Beautiful card. The Navy and copper look amazing together. Your card showcases the beautiful DSP so well and the thin strip of copper each side makes it pop even more.
