Heart of Christmas - Week 6

HoC_Header_2019_Blog
Hi there

Welcome to Week 6 of Heart of Christmas with the  Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team.  Did you realise it is 3 months today until Christmas!

Tonight I'm hosting the lovely ladies who are sharing their Christmas projects this week. The links are at the bottom of the post, so make sure you check them out and leave them some blog love.

This week I've had some fun putting together this card using products from the Night Before Christmas Suite. I've had this card in my head for a while, so it is great to see it come to life.

Stampin' Up! Night Before Christmas Suite - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
I've chosen a design from the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper that is perfect for my scene. I've trimmed it down and added it to a square card base in Cherry Cobbler. The finished card fits into a 14cm square envelope. Santa is standing on a black roof, preparing to go down the chimney. I found the piece of embossed black card stock in my scrap packet, so that was helpful. The greeting is from the Jolly Season Dies and I have cut one in Real Red and the other in Sparkle Glimmer and created a shadow to make it stand out a bit more from the background.

I love the traditional Santa image from the Holly JollyChristmas stamp set and I've coloured him with Stampin' Blends and paper pieced the sack and cropped him with the coordinating die from the Jolly Season Dies. The trim on his suit is very sparkly with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter that I added with a glue pen. The chimney is a piece of Terracotta Tile card stock embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder. I did a bit of tuck-pointing with a Chalk Marker and then sponged the edges and over the top with Cajun Craze ink.

For the inside, I have a Night of Navy mat for my writing panel. The little elf from the #elfie stamp set seemed appropriate for my scene and I added the greeting from the same stamp set, in Real Red ink in the centre.

What a lovely, fun card this is Judy. I really like the look of depth you've created on the chimney, and Santa's suit looks very special with the sparkly trim.

This is such a cute card, Judy! You may have me coming around on some of that DSP ;)

Thanks for hosting this week's blog hop Judy.
I love your card, all the little details, it's very clever. And I love Elfie on the inside too.
Gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous colouring of your Santa, Judy and the paper piecing is perfect!
