Heart of Christmas - Week 1

HoC_Header_2019_Blog
Hi there

Welcome to Week 1 of another year of Christmas inspiration from the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team. I love creating for Christmas - home decor, cards, tags, decorations; everything! I hope we will give you lots of creative inspiration to get started on your holiday craft. Dare I say that there are only 127 days to Christmas and once we get into September, they truly fly by!

The launch of the new 2019 Holiday Catalogue is less than 2 weeks away for customers. Demonstrators have been able to preorder  already and my project today will feature a number of new products. There is still time to take advantage of the Extra, Extra, Extra joining promotion and receive an additional $45 of product AND choose products from the new Holiday Catalogue in your Starter Kit.  Contact me if you are interested in becoming a member of my team.

Now, onto the card I have to share with you. I've combined 2 of my favourite products from the Holiday Catalogue for this simple and elegant card. This would be a great design to make multiples of.

Stampin' Up! So Many Stars Bundle & Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

My card base is Night of Navy and I've added some of the navy and copper stars design from the stunning Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.   This paper is really gorgeous, with one side of every double-sided sheet having copper foil accents to take your projects to the next level. I've added a narrow border of Copper Foil above the designer paper to separate it from the card base.

On the cropped Very Vanilla Stitched Label I have stamped the greeting from the So Many Stars stamp set in Night of Navy ink. It is one of  8 greetings in this set of 21 Photopolymer stamps. The lovely star flourish was die cut from Copper Foil using one of the coordinating Stitched Stars Dies. This is a huge set of 23 dies that include nesting stitched stars as well as the flourish and other smaller supporting stars and embellishments. To get the best result from the flourish die, you need to use the Precision Plate so you don't get those annoying dots all over the fine swirls. To finish, I've added some pretty navy rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack. There are 28 each of 5 colours (Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce and Night of Navy).

I have kept the inside simple, with a Very Vanilla writing panel edged with a strip of Copper Foil on each side.  The greeting from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set was stamped in Night of Navy ink and the star from the So Many Stars stamp set was stamped over the top in Seaside Spray ink.

It was a little breezy photographing outside, but I wanted to try and capture all the coppery goodness in natural light. I also finished off the back flap of the envelope with a group of stars from the So Many Stars stamp set.

What a beautiful and elegant Christmas card Judy. I love it inside and out. The brightly gleaming DSP is just so perfect for this style of card. I really like the copper elements you've added to the front and inside of the card. The star flourish simply makes this card and the stamping inside and on the envelope is such a nice extra touch. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
