CASE-ing the Catty - Pressed Petals Colour Combo

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

Welcome to another week of CASE-ing the Catty!

If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Michelle's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

We're changing things up a bit as we CASE the new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue. This week, we're taking the colour combination of the beautiful Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper for inspiration together with the layouts on pages 72-74. The coordinating colours for this DSP are Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzaz, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. Wow, that is a lot of colours and you can choose any or all of them when you join us with  your CASE on our Facebook page (see details at the bottom of the post). We would love to see your creation!

I've chosen to CASE the pretty card above that uses a number of products from the Pressed Petals Suite on page 73. The centre panel has been stamped with images from the Path of Petals stamp set. I've used the gorgeous floral design from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Paper instead. This is a lighter weight paper and there are 24 sheets in the pack; 4 each of 6 double-sided designs.

My base card is Very Vanilla and I cut another Very Vanilla panel and embossed it with the new Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, although you can't see it in this photo. The floral design paper is matted onto Merry Merlot card stock and the focus panel is also Merry Merlot with a small border of Rococo Rose. I have embossed the Merry Merlot panel with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a bit more texture and adhered it to the floral panel.

I have used one of the lovely frame dies from the new Detailed Bands Dies as the centre of my focus panel. I adhered a strip of the linen-look designer paper to some Kraft card stock and then ran it through the Big Shot and I love the look. I die cut another in Very Vanilla and used the centre piece to stamp the greeting from the coordinating Band Together stamp set using Early espresso ink. The decorative frame is centred on the Merry Merlot panel and the band is folded over on both sides of the Very Vanilla panel. The greeting is popped up in the frame and then whole panel was adhered to the card base.

To finish, I have created a flower with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape. The whole petal is sticky, so I held onto the bottom point and then ran the top part over my embossing buddy to remove the stickiness, so the petals have a more natural look. I've used 5 petals for my flower and created a centre with a 1/2" circle cut from a leftover scrap of the linen-look paper. I added the double bow of Baker's Twine with one of the gold Designer Elements in the centre. I took some white Baker's Twine and used the Light Rococo Rose Stampin' Blend marker to colour it. Use the side of the marker, so you don't split the tip.

For the inside I have cut the leftover piece of floral designer paper in half and added it to each side to create a reverse of the card front. The Very Vanilla writing panel has been stamped with the leaves from the Very Versailles stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink and a narrow strip of the linen-look paper added at the base. I had some of the Rococo Rose coloured Baker's Twine left so I tied it around the linen panel.
