CASE-ing the Catty - Classic Garage

2019 CTC Banner

Hi there

This week the CTC Crew are taking inspiration from the Classic Garage  section of the Occasions Catalogue.

If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Michelle's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

There are such a lot of great samples in this section of the Occasions Catalogue and I would loved to have CASE-ed more than one if I had the time. I will have to revisit this again.

In the end,  I decided to go with the card above from page 51 of the Occasions Catalogue, using the Perfectly Paired stamp set. I don't own this set, but a friend kindly let me stamp some images a while ago, so I'm glad to be able to use one.

The sample image was coloured with watercolour pencils, but I have used my Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers, for a bold and bright result. I have a thick Whisper White card base and then a Balmy Blue mat to create my sky. I dry embossed a piece of Pacific Point card stock with the Seaside Embossing Folder and then cut the top following the curves to give it more depth. I die cut some clouds from Sparkle Glimmer using the Up & Away Thinlits and added the Sparkle Glimmer die cut 'welcome'.  'Baby' was stamped in Pacific Point and double cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to get the length I wanted.

After colouring the image, I decided to fussy cut it, so I could add my own background. It was a little fiddly, but worth it. When cutting right on the line of the image, I always go around it with a Stampin' Write marker in a slightly lighter colour (I used Smoky Slate this time) to cover any little white bits.

For the inside I have a Balmy Blue mat and some of the Balmy Blue gingham DSP at the bottom. The greeting from the Better Together stamp set is stamped in Pacific Point. The little deer from the retired Made with Love stamp set is the finishing touch.

Judy your card is gorgeous. Love the bolder look the Blends give to the colouring and your fussy cutting is amazing.

Judy, this card is absolutely adorable. You’ve done a great job with the colouring and I love the water and clouds. They finish the card off perfectly!
