CASE-ing the Catty - Needlepoint Nook
March 24, 2019
Hi there
This week the CTC Crew are taking inspiration from the Needlepoint Nook section of the new Occasions Catalogue.
If you've come from looking at the lovely project on Sandra's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
There is just 1 week left to earn FREE product when you make a purchase of $90 or more between now and 31 March 2019. You can see all of the Sale-a-bration products that you can choose from in my Online Store. Don't forget the Sale-a-bration Coordination - all those fabulous dies to crop the images from your favourite Sale-a-bration stamp sets, available only until 31 March (except the Hop Around Framelits, that have now sold out). The popular Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack is back while stocks last.
This week I've taken my inspiration from the card above, that I've cropped out of the banner photo so you can see it more clearly. I was attracted to this card because of the colour - Berry Burst (along with Lemon Lime Twist) are my absolute favourite colours from the 2017-19 In Colours and they won't be around much longer (sob!). I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make another card with this lovely colour.
Reminder: now is the time to get your retiring In Colour re-inkers and card stock, as they will go like hot cakes when the Retiring List is released in Early May.
I decided to go with a square card base in Berry Burst and a centre panel in Berry Burst and a wide mat in Whisper White to add pop. For the centre panel I first embossed a section of the lovely needlepoint embossing die from the NeedlePoint Elements Framelits Dies in each corner. Layered on the panel is a doily and some of the white Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and then the flowers from the First Frost stamp set in Berry Burst, stamped off and full strength. This lovely stamp set carried over from the Holiday Catalogue, so you won't see it in any catalogue at the moment. You can find it in my Online Store, so if it is still on your Wish List it might be a good time to purchase it, as we don't know whether it will make it into the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue that is coming soon.
I popped in lots of greenery die cuts around the flowers as well as stamped leaves from the Painted Seasons stamp set in Granny Apple Green. Finally the centre banner in Silver Foil was added on top and the stamped greeting from the Amazing Life stamp set was popped up on the foil banner. I added a couple of rhinestones on the greeting banner and 3 of the cute Crumb Cake buttons from the Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons pack.
I have kept the inside simple, with a double mat and more of the needlepoint embossing die in the bottom corner. I added a stamped rose over the top and a single leaf spray.

Gorgeous card Judy, inside and out. These colours look so good together and the buttons finish it off perfectly.

Oh I'm going to miss Berry Burst! This is beautiful. The BB and white and pop of Lemon Lime Twist - fabulous! Thanks for the reminder to check my reinker status. I'm sure this is a colour I'll continue to use even when its retired.
