Butterflys are a big part of the FREE Sale-a-bration products, so I've I have a project to show you how you might use them. I have one of my favourite square cards, using the beautiful Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. This is a fabulous pack with lots of sheets of butterflies that you can punch out with the Butterfly Duet Punch, plus coordinating patterns and even sheets to colour.

My base card is Whisper White and I have a Gorgeous Grape matte for the Highland Heather floral design from the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack.

Stampin' Up! Botanical Butterfly DSP, Butterfly Elements & Part Of My Story - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

For the centre embellishment I have used one of the outline butterflies from the Butterfly Elements pack. I've stamped a butterfly from Butterfly Gala stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink, coloured it with Highland Heather Stampin' Blends and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It was cropped with the Butterfly Duet Punch and placed into the wooden butterfly frame and adhered it over the Highland Heather ribbon that is from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. I have used a cake decorating stamen for the butterfly antennae and then the smaller butterfly in Gorgeous Grape was popped up over the top and finished with some 2mm rhinestones. The greeting is from the Part of My Story stamp set, which is also one of the Sale-a-bration products that you can choose. It is very sparkly in real life!

For the inside, I have kept the same layout, using one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits double cut into a square for the writing panel. I added a small butterfly in the corner to finish.

This week I've taken my inspiration from the card above, which I've cropped out of the banner photo so you can see it more clearly. Even though the background designer paper is very busy, the embellishment still pops, so I thought I would try this with the floral design from the Painted Seasons Designer Paper.

As you can see from my finished card, I didn't achieve my goal! I adhered the paper to the front of the card and added the embellishment and my brain rebelled! It just looked way too busy. So I took the remaining strip left  from my 6" x 6" square and started again and this is where it ended up. I have embossed the right section with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder, leaving the strip of floral paper on the left.

I stamped the two flowers in Poppy Parade ink and the leaves in Call Me Clover ink. They were cropped with the coordinating Painted Seasons Framelits Dies that will be available to purchase from 1 March. You can see the amazing detail in the flowers that you get from just one impression of these Distinktive style stamps. Less is more with these stamps, so don't over ink them. If your ink pad is juicy, use a teaspoon to push the ink down into the foam pad. It is quick and works perfectly every time. The greeting is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink and layered on the Call Me Clover banner. All of these elements were layered onto the largest of the stitched circles from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I did add a Vellum circle behind to add interest and soften it.

I wanted to keep the inside soft, so I have a white writing panel and a strip of the designer paper at the bottom. It is the reverse side of the floral and I added another stamped flower in the corner.

We are taking our inspiration from the Sale-a-bration Brochures again this week and specifically, I'm using the new Second Release brochure. There are a great range of new products to choose from, plus all of the products from the initial release are still available too.

CTC216_SU_Sample

My inspiration comes from the card on the right in this photo of the front cover of the Sale-a-bration Second Release brochure. This card uses the Painted Seasons Bundle which is a new Level 2 option that you can choose with an order of $180 and includes the Painted Seasons stamp set and Painted Seasons Designer Series paper. You can see more details about these products in the video below.

I was drawn to the stamped background on this card using the succulent stamps, plus the colour combo. These are distinktive stamps so you get all the gorgeous detail from just one impression of the stamp.

I stamped up a panel with succulents in Call Me Clover, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party, and added the little stars in Balmy Blue. A very narrow mat of Lemon Lime Twist was added to the art panel and then it was popped up on the Balmy Blue card base.

The greeting from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set was stamped in Call Me Clover ink and then cut with the Layering Circles Framelits and layered onto a stitched circle in Balmy Blue. I have a larger circle of Vellum sitting on the art panel and I then added the die cut leaves and wooden elements and the gold sequin trim in the centre. The greeting was popped up over the top of all of these embellishments. I finished with the wooden butterfly and the little flower.

For the inside I have a mat of Lemon Lime Twist and I've added 2 more of the succulents in the corner with some die cut leaves. I used a sponge dauber to add some extra colour into the centre of the Lemon Lime Twist flower.  I'm looking forward to trying out more colour combinations.

This week I've taken my inspiration from the little tag with the cupcake, in the photo above. I don't have the Sweetest Thing stamp set or the coordinating Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies, but I do have some of the How Sweet It is Designer Series Paper and scissors, so I got to work to create my bright, fun, friendship card.

Stampin' Up! How Sweet It Is DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a piece of the Highland Heather spotty paper at the bottom. The white embossed greeting is from the Detailed with Love stamp set and I thought it worked really well with the sweets theme of this designer paper. I cut the strip of Melon Mambo card stock with the cute stitched and scalloped edgelit from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and wrapped some white baker's twine around it and adhered it to the top of the spotty paper.

Stampin' Up! How Sweet It Is DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
My focus embellishment is the sweet cupcake that I cropped from one of the sheets of designer paper from the How Sweet It Is pack. I roughly cut the cupcake from the paper and then adhered it to some Whisper White before fussy cutting it. It gives it more body when you pop it up on foam pads.  I used a glue pen to go around the curves of the frosting and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to match the gorgeous Glitter Enamel Dots that I popped over some of the sprinkles. I love that they match the colours in this suite perfectly. I also fussy cut one of the sweets to sit along side the cupcake, which is mounted on a Melon Mambo stitched circle and then a scalloped vellum circle.

For the inside, I have used the stitched and scalloped edgelit on each side of the writing panel for a cute finish, with a strip of the spotty designer paper down the side. I've fussy cut some more of the sweets from the designer paper and arranged them in the bottom corner.

Unfortunately, my camera doesn't capture the brightness of the Bermuda Bay very well, but it is very pretty IRL.

Very Vintage Thanks

Hi there

Today, I'm sharing the thank you card I made for customers who ordered with me last month. I used the Very Vintage Host stamp set from the Annual Catalogue, which is an option that you can purchase with Stampin' Rewards when you place an order of $250 or more.  The Host stamp sets are right at the back of the catalogue and are easy to overlook, so I'm showing you the images in this set in the pic below. I love the combination of greetings and lovely vintage images in this set. The label coordinates with the Darling Label punch from the Darling Label Punch Box.

Very_Vintage_Stamp_SetThe classic floral line image reminds me of the designs you see on toile fabric and on blue and white china.  I love blue and white china and have many pieces around my house, so that is my inspiration. I've used Blueberry Bushel with Whisper White to create my monochrome cards.

Stampin' Up! Very Vintage Host Set - Judy May, Just Judy DesignsI masked off a narrow panel on a piece of Whisper White card stock and then used the sponge brayer to add a light layer of Balmy Blue ink. A sponge dauber was used to add darker highlights with Blueberry Bushel ink. The large floral image was stamped over the top of the coloured panel with Blueberry Bushel ink and the bee was stamped in the corner. I added the narrow strip of Blueberry Bushel card stock across the base of the coloured panel and wrapped the lovely white/silver metallic edge ribbon around and finished in a bow. The thanks was cropped in Silver Foil using the die from the Well Written Framelits.

This closeup gives you a better view of the coloured panel and floral silhouette. I added some clear epoxy droplets to finish.

I have kept the inside simple, with part of the floral image stamped in each corner of the writing panel.
