Hi there

If you don't have your own copy of the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure yet, then leave your details on the Free Catalogues page on my blog and I'll pop one in the post for you.
This week I've taken my inspiration from the little tag with the cupcake, in the photo above. I don't have the Sweetest Thing stamp set or the coordinating Jar of Sweets Framelits Dies, but I do have some of the How Sweet It is Designer Series Paper and scissors, so I got to work to create my bright, fun, friendship card.
I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and added a piece of the Highland Heather spotty paper at the bottom. The white embossed greeting is from the Detailed with Love stamp set and I thought it worked really well with the sweets theme of this designer paper. I cut the strip of Melon Mambo card stock with the cute stitched and scalloped edgelit from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits and wrapped some white baker's twine around it and adhered it to the top of the spotty paper.
My focus embellishment is the sweet cupcake that I cropped from one of the sheets of designer paper from the How Sweet It Is pack. I roughly cut the cupcake from the paper and then adhered it to some Whisper White before fussy cutting it. It gives it more body when you pop it up on foam pads. I used a glue pen to go around the curves of the frosting and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to match the gorgeous Glitter Enamel Dots that I popped over some of the sprinkles. I love that they match the colours in this suite perfectly. I also fussy cut one of the sweets to sit along side the cupcake, which is mounted on a Melon Mambo stitched circle and then a scalloped vellum circle.
For the inside, I have used the stitched and scalloped edgelit on each side of the writing panel for a cute finish, with a strip of the spotty designer paper down the side. I've fussy cut some more of the sweets from the designer paper and arranged them in the bottom corner.
Unfortunately, my camera doesn't capture the brightness of the Bermuda Bay very well, but it is very pretty IRL.

What a fun card! I'm not a big fan of the suite, but I'd just about get the DSP just for that sheet!!

Thank you the tip about mounting DSP onto white card for stability. Your card is so festive and pretty. I love all the little details.

Love where the inspiration took you with this card. Super neat fussy cutting, I never would have thought that wasn't using the dies. Love the layout and all the little details.

Great use of the DSP. I often forget to use the DSP instead of a stamped image.
