This week, I'm taking my inspiration from the card above on page 42 of the Annual Catalogue. The catalogue flopped open at this page and an idea popped into my head when I saw this card and I went with it.

Stampin' Up! Signs of Santa Bundle
At first glance, my card may not resemble the sample very closely. When I was positioning all the elements it became clear that Santa wasn't going to fit on a portrait card, so I switched it to landscape. I started with a Poppy Parade card base and added a layer of Whisper White dry embossed with the Oh My Stars embossing folder as used in the sample.

I found a scalloped Vellum circle in my scraps and then added the 3 banners that ground Santa; I've used the polka dot and striped/flocked designer paper from the Santa's Workshop Specialty pack and some Silver Glimmer paper. Santa was stamped in Memento Tuexedo Black ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends markers and cropped with the coordinating die from the Santa's Signpost Framelits dies. I used a glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to Santa's Hat trim and pompom. The greeting is stamped in Garden Green and is tucked under Santa's list and they are popped up. A few silver sequins finishes it off.

For the inside I have a double mat for the writing panel and I added some of the Garden Green sprig washi from the Suite Season Specialty pack at the base. Mrs Claus is in the corner, coloured with Stampin' Blends markers. It doesn't show well in the photo, but I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to her collar, cuffs and apron with a glue pen.

Heart of Christmas - Week 15

HoC-Header_2018

Hi there

Welcome to week 15 and the final week of Heart of Christmas for this year.

I feel like I'm still catching my breathe after a whirlwind 2 weeks in the United States. I attended the Stampin' Up! 30th Anniversary OnStage event in Orlando, Florida as well visiting the home office in Riverton, Utah.  I had a few days at the end to do a bit sightseeing and shopping.

So today, I have a simple and hopefully elegant card for you. Simple and elegant is what you need at this time of the year as we get closer to December. I want to use up the lovely Joyous Noel designer paper and this layout is perfect.

Stampin' Up! Joyous Noel DSP, Stitched Accents & Peaceful Poinsettia - Judy May, Just Judy Designs

I started with a Merry Merlot card base and added the copper foil accented reindeer designer paper from the Joyous Noel Specialty pack. A 1" flagged banner in Merry Merlot card stock is positioned slightly towards the bottom edge and the Copper Foil label from the Stitched Label Framelits is centred on top. The greeting from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set is stamped in Merry Merlot and die cut with a stitched oval framelit.

I added a Braided Linen Trim bow and coloured some Clear Epoxy Droplets with a Bronze Stampin' Blend to finish. I felt it needed something extra, so I added the heart from the retired Metallic Enamel Shapes, also coloured with the Bronze Stampin' Blends marker.

For the inside, I have a Gray Granite mat for the writing panel and I added the greeting from the Dashing Deer stamp set to the centre with Merry Merlot ink. The striped copper washi from the Suite Season Specialty set was added at the bottom and the deer was stamped in Gray Granite ink.
