This week, I'm taking my inspiration from a variety of tags in the Holiday Catalogue.  I started with the one on the left in the photo above.

Stampin' Up! Joyous Noel Holiday Tag - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
I started with a 2" strip of Whisper White card stock and added the paper from the Joyous Noel Specialty pack and then used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to create the decorative top. I decided to go a bit brighter with the Shaded Spruce card stock and then heat embossed the greeting in white. I even got out the sewing machine to add the stitching to the top and bottom and to give the tag a bit more pop I added some Real Red ribbon behind it. I finished with the cute holly from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set.

These tags are in Very Vanilla and I've added some of the designer paper from the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Paper.  The strips were a bit short so I added the greeting from the Peaceful Noel Stamp set at the bottom with a little strip of glimmer paper. I then added some embellishments made from bits I had sitting around on my craft table.

This final tag is one of my very favourites and I have used it previously as a layout for a card here. I think the original sample was wider, but I wanted to stay with my 2" wide design. I think it all fit quite well in the end.

Heart of Christmas - Week 11

HoC-Header_2018

Hi there

Welcome to week 11 of Heart of Christmas from the Art with Heart team.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to craft with friends and as a result I've been inspired to try some angled layouts with the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies.  As the holiday season edges closer, we need cards that are quick to create but still pack a punch in the style stakes. I think this layout is perfect for the photographic style prints in the Holiday Catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Merry Christmas to All & All is Bright DSP - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
I started with a panel of Real Red card stock and spritzed it with water and ran it through the Big Shot with the Subtle embossing folder.  I chose one of the photographic designs from the All is Bright designer paper and cut it to the same size as my panel and then diagonally in half. After adhering the DSP I added a strip of Gold Glimmer to border the DSP and then added the 'Christmas' die cut in gold foil. This die has such a lovely font and makes a huge statement on the card.  The finished panel was adhered to the Whisper White card base.

You can see the lovely texture of the dry embossed section in this photo. I added the smaller gold embossed 'merry' greeting that was cropped with the cute label die also from the Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies. To finish, I added some gold Metallic Pearls to the label and to the 'i' on the die cut.

For the inside, I have a Real Red mat for the writing panel and I added the greeting from the Timeless Tidings stamp set to the centre with Garden Green ink. I've used  the corner element from the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies in Gold Foil and I added the coordinating flower in Real Red over the top with a small Gold Glimmer centre.

I'm looking forward to creating more cards with this layout. I hope you give it a try too.

More Country Home

Hi there

I've been busy with classes this week, so I haven't had much time for my own creating. However, I have another card to show you, using the Country Home stamp set. I coloured two flower bowls when I created this card a few weeks ago, so today I'm showing you how I used the second bowl of flowers.

Stampin' Up! Country Home - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne

I coloured the main set of flowers in Rich Razzleberry with Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate for the artichoke, so I continued with these colours in my card. The card base is Mint Macaron and I stamped the tile image on the end in Mint Macaron ink on a separate piece of cardstock (it took a few tries to get them all lined up!) and added it to the end of the card. Some of the lovely Braided Linen Trim finishes off the edge. The birthday greeting is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink on the Crumb Cake panel and I've added the striped Rich Razzleberry designer paper to the edges, with some of the Chicken Wire Elements. The bowl of flowers is popped up on a Very Vanilla stitched circle at the end of the greeting panel and I added the Braided Linen Trim bow when it was in place. I think all the elements give it a country feel.

For the inside, I have some narrow strips of the Rich Razzleberry designer paper at each side of the writing panel to continue the theme from the front. I punched out a vase shape with the Vases Builder Punch and coloured it with the Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends for my terracotta vase. When it was in place, I added a mask and stamped the stem of flowers and carefully coloured them with the fine tip end of the (retired) dark Pink Piourette Stampin'Blends marker. The greeting comes from the coordinating Varied Vases stamp set.

Heart of Christmas - Week 10

HoC-Header_2018

Hi there

Welcome to week 10 of Heart of Christmas from the Art with Heart team.

Last week the lovely Tina Gillespie CASE-ed one of my card layouts, so I thought I would reciprocate this week by CASE-ing this layout from her lovely card from last year. I really love the grouping of circles and I have  made my version using products from the Joyous Noel Suite and the Dashing Deer stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Dashing Deer & Joyous Noel - Judy May, Just Judy Designs, Melbourne
The card base is Tranquil Tide and I've added a layer of the lovely copper accented paper from the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper.  Then it was a matter of layering on the different sized circles. I have copper foil that was embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing folder, the red striped design also from Joyous Noel DSP and the open circle from Tranquil Tide Glimmer paper. The last circle in Very Vanilla was stamped with the greeting from the Timeless Tidings stamp set in Merry Merlot ink and cropped with a stitched circle.

HoC_10_Circle_Deer_CLose

The lovely brocade reindeer from the Dashing Deer stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink and popped up on foam pads. Did you notice the sparkly little trees? They are from the Festive Farmhouse Elements. I pressed the trees into an ink pad and then onto the reverse of the Tranquil Tide glimmer paper like a stamp and then cut them out. I'm really happy with how they turned out. You can see the details in the photo above.

For the inside, I have a Copper Foil mat for the writing panel and a strip of the Merry Merlot designer paper at the bottom. In the corner I've stamped the trees from the Timeless Tidings stamp set and the small deer from the Dashing Deer stamp set.

I hope Tina thinks I've done her layout justice!

CASE-ing the Catty - Toil & Trouble

CTC_Blog_Banner_edited

Hi there

This week is our 200th blog hop sharing the inspiration from CASE-ing the Stampin' Up! catalogues.  We're at the last section of the Holiday Catalogue - Toil and Trouble on pages 48-55.

If you've come from Julia's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today!  You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.

CTC200_SU_Sample

This week, I'm taking my inspiration from the card above on the inside back cover of the Holiday Catalogue. It  uses the Hung with Care host set, but I have chosen to make a birthday card using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set instead.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Bouquet - Judy May, Just Judy Designs

As you can see, I've stayed close to the layout of the sample card. The base card is Gray Granite, which is a fabulous warm neutral and fast becoming a favourite. I've stamped the Buffalo Check in Gray Granite on Whisper White and added a narrow border of Berry Burst to give it some pop.

CTC200_Bouquet_Close

The large stitched oval has been dry embossed with the Subtle Dynamic embossing folder to provide extra texture. The flowers on the bouquet were die cut from watercolour paper and I spritzed them with Frost White shimmer mist to which I added a couple of drops of Berry Burst re-inker. It resulted in a variety of different shades of sparkly pink in the flower clusters. Small circles of Sparkle Glimmer were added on the reverse to the flower centres.

I wrapped a piece of Burlap ribbon around the stems and tied the Baker's Twine bow before adhering the stem to the embossed oval. The flower clusters were then added to the stem and popped up at different heights. I created my own version of the 3D word by adhering multiple layers together with the Sparkle Glimmer on top.

CTC200_Bouquet_Inside
For the inside I have a double mat, echoing the narrow border of Berry Burst from the front. I stamped a stem from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set in Old Olive and added a leftover flower cluster to it. At the bottom is a strip of the spotted Gray Granite designer paper sitting on the deorative border created with a die from the Bouncing Baby Framelits. The greeting is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.

The card is very sparkly, but unfortunately I haven't been able to capture that in the photos.
