CASE-ing the Catty - All is Bright
September 02, 2018
Hi there
Welcome to the very first week of CASE-ing the fabulous Holiday Catalogue! You will be able to purchase all of the new products from the Holiday Catalogue from 5 September (only 3 more sleeps!). This week the CTC crew are taking inspiration from the All is Bright section on pages 4-11. If you are in Australia and don't yet have your own copy of the Holiday Catalogue, then please get in touch as I'd love to pop a complimentary copy in the post for you.
If you've come from Rebecca's blog, then welcome! If you're visiting me, I appreciate you stopping by today! You can continue your journey to see the other inspiring creations from the CTC Crew by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post.
I have taken my inspiration from this tag on the bottom left of page 8 of the Holiday Catalogue. Instead of a tag, I decided to scale up the layout into a card.
I have chosen Gray Granite for my card base and 2 coordinating designs from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper, with Cherry Cobbler accents to bring it together. You can see I've kept the asymmetric layout with the designer paper, adding Cherry Cobbler mats for some pop and a Cherry Cobbler stitched circle as the base for the deer.
The lovely filigree deer from the Dashing Deer stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso ink and cropped with the coordinating dies. Fussy cutting those antlers would not be fun! I recommend using your Stamparatus or stamping platform so that you can get a really rich colour on the deer. The greeting from Peaceful Poinsettia has been masked and stamped in Cherry Cobbler to get one line only and the ends have been flagged. The holly, also from Peaceful Poinsettia, adds a pop of colour with some pine fronds from the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits in Call Me Clover underneath the holly.
I have used a similar layout for the inside, adding the holly in the corners for a nice pop of colour.

Judy you’re a genius with layers. Plaid paper can often take over the scene but you’ve managed a beautiful balance of lots of different patterns without them seeming to clash. Just beautiful with all your gorgeous attention to detail.

Great minds are inspired alike? I love your take on this tag, it does make a great layout for a card instead.

Wow Judy, your card is stunning. I love the look of the asymmetric layout and the colours work so well together.

I like the difference of having the layers positioned to the right on your card, and the way you've emphasised it with cherry cobbler card.
