The Heart of Christmas - Week 25
November 15, 2017
Hi there
Welcome to week 25 of Christmas inspiration from the Art with Heart Stampin' Up! team. We are on the home stretch with just 2 more weeks to go. This week I have used the lovely 'Musical Season' stamp set for the first time.
I have used a panel of wood grain paper from the Wood Textures stack for the background and stamped the drummer boy image in Early Espresso ink. I gave that a blast with the heat gun before embossing the greeting from 'Snowflake Sentiments' at the top. I had in mind to emboss it in gold, but it looked a bit lost on the wood grain. As I had used a stamp positioner, I inked again over the top in Versamark and Real Red ink and heated it again. The result is a crackle kind of effect where some of the gold is showing through under the red, so there is a bit of sparkle too. Not what I had expected, but I think it works better with the wood grain.
I added a band of red at the base and a strip of Gold Glimmer for sparkle before adhering to a mat of Garden Green. Greenery that was die cut with the Christmas Staircase Thinlits (courtesy of a lovely stamping friend) forms the base for the Gold Foil french horn that has been popped up. A bow in the Gold Natural trim and some gold stars finishes it off. The finished art panel was popped up onto a Real Red card base.
For the inside, the writing panel sits on a Garden Green mat and I have stamped the border image at the bottom in Real Red and the branch in the top corner, which was coloured with markers.
All of the new products in the Holiday Catalogue are available to purchase from my Online Store now.
