CASE-ing the Catty - Thanks!
July 09, 2017
Hi there
This week we are welcoming new members to the design team - that means more inspiring projects for you to look at! Please make them welcome by leaving them some blog love. This week we are looking at the 'Thanks' section of the Annual Catalogue on pages 126-131. I love sending thank you cards - being grateful is something we can all do to bring happiness to ourselves and others. There is no better way to do that, than with a handmade made card, so I like to have a stash of them.
You may have come from visiting Angela's blog, but if you are visiting me, you can start your journey here and continue by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the post. Angela is one of our new DT members, so welcome Angela, it is great to have you here!
This week, I'm CASE-ing the card in the photo, which is on page 126. This layout is great for showcasing our lovely designer paper as well as using up those strips that we have left over from other projects. You can intersperse panels of stamping and embossing for added interest.
I have used the 'Whole Lot of Lovely' designer series paper for my card - the first time I have cut into this lovely set of papers. I went on a journey with this card and it didn't end up where I had imagined, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow. The borders of Tranquil Tide card stock between the designs frames them and gives the card a more graphic look than the sample. I added one of the wooden heart elements and a Powder Pink Bitty Bow for the embellishments. With all the colour and patterns, I don't think it needs anything more.
You can see the embellishment better in this closeup. I cut a panel of Whisper White and adhered the strips and borders on to it and then trimmed it and mounted it onto the Powder Pink base card with foam pads. I think it makes for a neater result.
For the inside, I have a Pool Party mat and a some of the cute striped Daffodil Delight washi from the Basics Pack 2 set at the bottom. I then used one of the elements from the 'Eclectic Layers' Thinlits to emboss the leaves at the bottom. The flower image is from the coordinating 'Oh So Eclectic' stamp set which has been coloured with Copics, die cut and adhered over the top.

I love your take on this card. The little heart and bow are just perfect on the front. And I love the embossed leaves in the corner. Such a gorgeous touch.
